There are similarities to Fisher that I don't like. He was a great motivator but X's and O's were weak; his team underachieved (would be debatable if Kerr didn't follow him and immediately create a dominant team); he had a ton of issues with management and apparently even his staff; and then there's some alleged stuff that was never confirmed or fully refuted. Some ish about him turning players against management and his pastor stuff being a distraction. I'm not putting too much weight in those but they're red flags combined with the rest. I think there are much better options and the last thing we need is another coach with poor X's and O's who has a penchant for beefing with management.

Plus he's a religious zealot. I don't trust guys like that.

These are interesting tweets. I'm sure the knicks will be looking at second round guards, where a pick could be bought.

Obviously a rough translation but, looks like Willy is on his way on a reasonable deal for the next 4 years. So we got the Knicks seeking a second rounder, signs that Willie is on his way...looks like the youth movement will continue and the slow and steady will continue as well. Buckle up folks, the kids either take leaps or we need patience barring Melo having another post-Olympics season AND KP turning into a 82 game star. This is what I've been on for a while though, just keep building and developing without Melo's window worrying you. Offer reasonable contracts that are likely to be turned down to the stud FA's and work your way down but prioritize young cats like Crabbe, Fournier and Powell (would love Bazemore but I'm skeptical that he'll have a reasonable price tag). If Melo waives his NTC, you're in perfect position to tank and if not, you've got a puncher's shot at the post season but you've got a developing roster regardless.

Side Note: Skiles just quit on Orlando, so there's more competition for coaches but also another solid coach on the market. Blatt's my guy but wouldn't be mad at most other options not named Rambis (keep Mark Jackson away), especially not Vogel.

:ehh:
I watched the Blatt timeout compilation. I didn't hear any mind blowing X and O stuff like I was expecting. I heard a lot of motivational stuff like "we gotta rebound", "we gotta block out", "we're still in this". Yeah he pulled 2 guys for talking while he was talking, but it's a lot easier to do that to guys named Yuri Blagdoyavich and Sven Potapenko then say a Lebron James and Kevin Love. Had that been Bron I think he'd have politely waited his turn to speak. It should also be noted that all the religious stuff and beef with management was spun by GS management. Of course they will spin in their own favor. It can't be denied that Mark turned that team around and they were still trending upward when he was released. :yeshrug: Hopefully he gets a shot again somewhere else. Bklyn shoulda hired him.

Fam, snippets of TO's isn't meant to show you mind blowing X and O stuff though. You'd need to see the possessions leading up to the TO and then see what adjustments he's making. The clip I posted did include specifics about stopping Navarro and Bogdonavic though and ended (I'll time stamp it so you can see this part since it's not long) with some of Blatt drawing up plays.

Even so though, don't take it from youtube. The best example of Blatt being a hell of a coach is the Eurobasket 2007 championship game. That Spanish roster was stacked and the Russian team had some talent but really didn't compare well. I honestly don't think many coaches can steal that W.

2 KNICKS TAKE SHOTS AT JEWS WARD, HOUSTON IN BIBLE STUDY FLAP

I've read some of Blatts comments on Israel /Palestine. He's like Netanyahu. So on a personal note I don't like the guy. He got the Cavs Job because of his connection with Dan Gilbert.

So if he gets the Job, all I'm saying he better effing good because he's going to promote his Propaganda when he gets the opportunity ... He'll get asked about Israel more than the Knicks if he becomes coach.

Both of them, Ward and Houston, are cultishly weird for that.

I remember this, this was 15 years ago. I'm quite sure their stances might have "softened" by now.
