:manny: I only responded to this weird idea that he faked an injury. Which is lame.

Beyond that -- he's been better that just about any guard we've had for the last three years, but the Knicks decided they didn't wanna pay the poison-pill section of that deal he was offered, and let him go.

Lin certainly would not have made the team all that much better. He wouldn't have helped against the Pacers in the playoffs, and he wouldn't get us into the playoffs this season. Plus there was some obvious resentment from players about the amount of attention (and money) he was getting at the end of the season, and that offseason. That being said, he would help now, at a time when our backcourt is super trash.

But there's such a weird anger on this board for Lin, I find it hilarious. He is (unfortunately) probably one of the five or 8 best players that has played for this team in the last 4 years.

The reason he comes up whenever he plays well is simple:
  • He was responsible for one of the most exciting stretches of Knicks basketball in the last 5 years
  • The knicks could have kept him, but decided to let him go for over a relatively low amount of money
  • The Knicks guards have continued to be super trash
  • Fans who don't like Melo latched onto him quick, like he was the antidote

He's still a solid guard, who's shot 35-36% from three over the last three years, gets to the line at a decent clip, shoots 80% from there, and turns the ball over too much. A solid guard off the bench for (currently) $2 Million a year.

Lin's ability to catch and shot has really improved a lot and makes him a nice viable cheap guard for any team for damned sure. I just don't mention him because I don't think Dolan will ever let him back on the Knicks after he renegotiated that contract. It's the only explanation I can think of for the Knicks not even looking his way this offseason when they had that clear need. The Lin hate is as unnecessary as the Lin overhype; it's two camps going to extremes over a guy that fits the "he's not bad, but nothing special" category.

Came in here to shout out KP playing with more life than I've seen in weeks, but had to shout out a nice Lin breakdown.

you know everything huh pal
there is no vendetta...i went along for the ride too when linsanity was around
it's been corny...im a fan of a franchise not a player
having jeremy lin on this roster or any roster in the past 3 years would not have made a huge difference in the outcomes of the season
we wouldve been trash last year, this year, clapped up and gunned quick in 2013 too.
everytime he puts up numbers...nikkas come out of the wood work hyping him up like he had some sort of massive game changing potential
people still have those rose colored febuary of 2012 glasses on and it's tired
he wouldve been marginally better than felton...
i never called him trash....the way he handled things in 2012 was lame as fukk to me. TO ME...TO ME...ME. ME.
4 years later and we still talking about jeremy lin...:mjlol: 2016 we talking about this dude :mjlol:

Yea, I fukks with IV usually, but Lin being shook by Miami during the regular season and then later sitting out against them in round 1 left a really bad taste in my mouth. Even at the time people were wondering if he was trying to protect his stock in free agency, i.e. Getting exposed by the heat for a whole series could cost him millions.
