Here's a guy I'd be intrigued by moreso than Shaw. He did a hell of a job with the Suns in spite of them making a bunch of awful decisions with that roster under him and then he lost their two best players and got fired over it. I have no clue how he won 48 games with the roster in Phoenix a couple years back. Want to see a premature unfair firing...Jeff Hornacek and David Blatt both have a case (though I don't think Blatt ever fit NBA culture).

Yeah, this is the new normal for all coaches. Tom Thibodeau got canned and never won less than 45 games. And that ish isn't even new, Larry Brown straight up jacked Rick Carlisle for a ring in Detroit...and he was the coach of the year.

:dwillhuh: How long did Thibbs coach in Chicago?

We DID IT!!! It should've happened 10 games ago, but now we're free. Time to find someone that knows what they're doing.

I'd welcome Thibs, Pat Ewing (bring him home), Jeff. I'd really want Jerry Sloan but there's no way he and Phil wouldn't butt heads.

So what? What manager sets the bar low? You're ranking his performance based on hype to generate interest in the team or on the actual moves he made? Stop being shallow.
U can't have it both ways
Phil himself said the team we had when he came was a playoff team. Ended up having the worst season in franchise history
So your argument about no talent makes no sense

But for the record, Im judging based on what he's done since he arrived

I haven't forgot about Dalembart
We still dealing with calderon
We struck out in free agency
He hired a horrible coach

D will and Affalo, Lopez, are okay depending what day of the week it is, but
Seraphin, oquinn, sasha for the most part are garbage :yeshrug:

We don't even have max cap space right now if Durant decided he wanted to come here :francis:

my point is, he's not doing anything so far that the avg decent nba GM couldn't do.

Porzingis was a good pick but that's it :yeshrug:

Thibs isn't my example of premature canning; he's an example of NBA politics getting coaches fired (think Kidd and the Brooklyn drama). Thibs had 5 seasons and won less than 50 games one time and they probably overachieved for most of those seasons under him and he still managed to get dropped for Hoiberg who has Chicago on pace to be pretty much in the same spot (but he has a better roster imo). The premature firings though have been happening for a while too though. Karl and Blatt are both guys I don't like as coaches, but they one is on the hot seat and the other is out because of player politics. Hornacek is a guy I thought did pretty well, but he had 0 PG's due to injuries and he's out a job. Lionel Hollins is another coach I think does a solid job and got jerked prematurely. This ish is happening all over the place.

This is related to the rant but separate. I have no solid proof on this ish, but I think that coaches and players having the same agents is playing into this. Star players have their agents linking them with coaches all over the place. Luke Walton is repped by the same crew that reps Westbrook...he'd have been sought after for that reason even without the interim coach run he just had imo.

The fukk? He actually got fired? I don't know how to feel about this. Fisher may not have been great so far, but this roster wasn't expected to even get into the playoffs anyway, at frankly for a part of the season the team looked like it was overachieving under him, in spite of weird rotations and such. He probably deserved at least another season considering he's had a little more than half of one with a decent roster. Plus it sounds like he's being fired for increasingly breaking away from the triangle, which isn't good because it means Phil is married to this triangle shyt and really wants to prove a point with it. Oh and Kurt Rambis isn't a good coach:francis.

I'd love to see Hornacek get the job though:yes: But I really want the new coach to have some free rein to do what he wants to.

I forgot Thibs said the Knicks were his dream job before. I'd like him in NY too. He had his issues with playing guys too many minutes, but he's also one of the few coaches around the league who manages to get the most out of every player he has.

Shaw or Mark Jackson would be awful, awful hiring's though.
