Kristaps Porzingis itching to play with Spanish League pal | New York Post

Hernangomez, 21, played in Sevilla with Porzingis for two seasons — his contract on loan from Real Madrid. Now Hernangomez, stockier than Porzingis and more of a low-post big, is back with Real Madrid.

Though he’s coming off the bench on a stronger team, Hernangomez is developing more because of Real Madrid’s facilities being better than the ones in Sevilla, according to his agent, Andy Miller.

Miller, who runs New Jersey-based ASM Sports, also reps Porzingis. He said he believes if Hernangomez were in this June’s draft: “He’d be a top-20 pick.’’

“I talk to him every day [by text],’’ Porzingis said. “The last two seasons, we were really good friends, hung out all the time outside of basketball. We have a really good connection.’’

Hernangomez’s English isn’t as strong as Porzingis’, so they communicate in Willy’s native tongue — Spanish.

“He does speak [English], but not that good,’’ Porzingis said. “I think he’s getting better, playing on Real Madrid, playing with a lot of American players. He wants to learn English more.’’

Playing sparingly early in the season, Hernangomez had a very tough adjustment to his new team. In the last month, his minutes have climbed. On the season, he has played 27 games, averaging 12 minutes, and 5.8 points per game on 68 percent shooting.

I was joking but :mjlol: at bringing up Billups and Nate, and Steph. The fact you even had to go as far back as those dudes is telling. Jeremy Lin was never trash, Charlotte just letting the nikka cook. He the same player he's always been. Jason Kidd, cant front on that one but we haven't had a guard that could create his own shot in a minute. That fat fakkit Felt was trash. fukk him.

Also, I see nothing wrong with FIsh's statement. We have been overachieving all season. Have ya'll seen the fukking roster? :mjlol::mjlol:
Fish has been making mistakes I agree, but lets be honest this isn't a good team outside of 2 or 3 players.
Everything is just :snoop:

I can't believe that quote by Fisher, he really should be doing some damage control tonight. If it's about the process, why the hell are Amundsen and Vujacic even getting the slightest bit of playing time? He hasn't developed anyone besides maybe Lance Thomas and good for Thomas for making himself into a serviceable player in the league but he shouldn't be a priority at all if Fisher was thinking more for the future.

@Gil Scott-Heroin @Malta @I.V. Knicks fans need your thoughts on coach Fisher. Have the fans been unfairly hypercritical of Fish who has a very limited, flawed roster or has the criticism of the coach been justified with the team slowly falling out of the playoff race due to his ineptitude? Is he utilizing KP, Jerian Grant and other young Knicks the right way and to their best of their abilties? How you grade his job coaching this team this year? and should the Knicks look into hiring another coach next year if they fail to make the playoffs?

I don't think he's a very good coach....yet, but truth be told he doesn't have an NBA starting level PG on his roster, Galloway is a good player but he's very clearly a good backup and Grant isn't ready. It's really hard to say what Fisher can and cant do though, because he was basically hired to be an extension of Phil and running the triangle with the roster they have is kind of :ld: They might be better just throwing Grant out there and running a ton of high screen & rolls with some isolations instead of the triangle, but that's on Phil and whether or not Grant gets to play is his call and they wont go away from the triangle. They could use his dribble penetration and he should honestly be a better defender than Calderon off GP which would fix a lot of the Knicks problems.

Realistically the Knicks don't have the talent of a playoff team, every one of the playoff teams has a PG that the Knicks would take, even with how poor Rose has looked if he were bought out the Knicks would scoop him up and start him. It's a PG driven league now and having Calderon as your starting PG in 2016 is terrible. I think the expectations on the Knicks was too high, even getting in at the 8th spot is going to be difficult for this team, the Pistons may lose KCP for a while which would be a major blow but Charlotte has been playing extremely well since MKG came back and I would think they'd just assume the spot. It's a dog fight for that 8th spot and there are more complete teams right now in the East.

The biggest issue for Fisher is that he doesn't have the right pieces to make the triangle really work, and truthfully for what they have right now a more basic approach would be better. They need an upgrade at the 1, if they can get a trade for Teague then I think he would help them get to the playoffs.

Manhattan is going to be pretty pricey. Your best bet is to find a hotel not in Midtown, if you can find a spot in the outer boroughs, that would be your best bet.

Do you have problems with how Fish is using Porzingis? It feels like the triangle holds back a person of KP's talents, because there's no type of high PNR or high pick and pop in this system.
