no rapper evolves. we need to stop this corny ass narrative that rappers have some kind of story arc they all rap about the same shyt.

j cole rapped about the same shyt since the warm up for a decade

k dot be rapping about the same thing he did on the ep

drake been doing the same shyt since take care

big sean do the same thing since finally famous 2 aka uknowbigsean

nip rapped about the same shyt

curren$y been rapping bout the same shyt since 07

krit the same

nas the same shyt

biggie literally rapped about nothing but it was amazing

every rapper has a canon. and its nothing wrong with it

Pusha T is elite in his lane and a dope storyteller. How would he “evolve”? By badly singing/whining while using autotune or some other voice distortion?
nikkas dont like a rapper a find some shyt to nitpick. skyzoo my favorite rapper but he does the same shyt on every album. unless you a rapper crafting albums with themes and shyt like lupe be doing you gonna rap about the same shyt and even lupe recycles themes he has an obsession with resurrection that he revisits often.

He don’t look 50. 4:44 had drugs raps too. I don’t need to know that an aging rapper notices his grays or some shyt like that in the bars. Keep making call backs to the streets, I’m cool with it.
I don't get the fascination with coke rhymes as a listener when you reach a certain age. I'm certainly not interested in that shyt.

Most rappers rap about the same shyt on every project.

This is weird criticism.

Styles P evolved. Nas evolved. Cormega evolved. Ransom evolved. Bun B evolved. Jeezy evolved. Plenty of rappers grow.

He's incredibly overrated on this board. Clipse made some good music with the Neptune's back in the day but Push's solo stuff is unimaginative and dull.

Regarding the argument that other highly regarded rappers have limited subject matter. There's a difference between songs having similar themes and songs just being repetitive. Ten crack commandments, Somebody got to die, everyday struggle Sound nothing alike inspite of being based around similar street struggle themes (and Big rapped about a lot of other stuff anyway). Someone mentioned Nas. Do you really think the message, I you power, memory lane etc are samey sounding? I don't. With Push however, you can basically randomly shuffle his verses and have nothing sound out of place. It's beyond one dimensionality.
