North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Not to mention the Rap Radar interview from a few months ago where Drake was still crying about the song. Dude you quoted is delusional.

It didn't. "Ether" really earned it's rep when Jay went on the radio crying about losing the poll. Which was shortly after "Ether" came out.

Drake was still crying about "TSOA" December 2019....which was a year and a half later. Plus 40 was whining about it last month, too.

Is this a serious question?

Drake and his camp still crying about it damn near 2 years later. That's the aftermath.

Fred.

the word "ether" has stuck ever since. that alone puts it over the top, but the song itself and the aftermath, it's close.

Take Over was a hotter song. A better song. Ether was more "ether", but I think Nas didn't have anything to lose, since he wasn't known to battle and nobody expected him to come back like he did.

Everyone assumed Drake would win because of what he did to Meek, plus the fact that Common and Joe Budden disses didn't touch him. Push T, broke through the OVO machine and cut him. I think that's more significant than Ether.

And don't forget multiple post beef references Jay made to it on tracks like mars vs venus and the Jim Jones diss.

Everyone from Slim Thug to Meek to Lil Kim to Remy Mistah fab used the beat.

Only the the coli bigs up tsoa like that.

Best diss record ever.... Don't care what anyone on the Coli says. It will follow Drake well after his career is done. It will follow his kid.

Everything about the record was masterfully cultivated to deliver a song so offensive that if Pusha and Drake were local street nikkas, Drake would have put a hit on Pusha and Push may be dead! That is how mad Aubrey is!

This will be continously examined by hip-hop historians and brought up when diss tracks are mentioned.

Ether was a master class in writing diss records until Adidon dropped....

No Vaseline & Hit Em Up were the most flagrant records ever until Adidon dropped.

So no one cares about it but Rolling Stone brought it up more than 2 years later?
well its an interview about 40 who's a bit of a recluse now and doesnt do them. he's never been asked. how could they not ask him?
it was definitely a moment in hiphop history...2 years ago. everyone acknowledges he lost, even himself. and he's still as popular as ever. just saying yall up this thread nearly once a month.

This dude really had a full out black face on :dahell: It's still shocking to think about. I mean, not even the brown or dark brown, literally the black paint and fire truck red lips.

Ehhhhhhhhhhh... you got some slang out of it.. But outside the internet, you really hear nikkas walking round talking bout "Damn he dropped that ether on you" Nah not really...................

But Adidon (or whatever) will be 45 fukking years old, and people will STILL be clowning him and drake and his mom, for the things said in this song. I mean the man released the first pics ever of them, and all the comments is talking about how Pusha MADE him become a good father. Super Ugly couldn't even do what SOA did because Jay said sorry and the song sucked... That family will ALWAYS be attached to Pusha.

Local doesn't even matter... Boy ran up to Lebron's show and ADMITTED he was asking around about how nikkas would feel if he didn't come back... Then proceeded to get gangsta on film, something he never does.... In music, yes.. But in interviews, he turns into his real self.. Well this time he up there talking tough bout Pusha getting punched in his face... Then showed Bron his kid on the phone... So you can text and ask for his opinion and tell him "I don't want to let you down" but you wait till you get on TV with him to play "hey look at my son, i'm a proud daddy" Oh no no nikka... That's your man, you could have texted that a loooooooooooong time ago.. Or 5 minutes before you got there. But got it make it look good for the cameras.... THEN went and had J Prince do a gangsta tour for him to explain why he won't respond.... THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN

Drake might be the reason this shyt will last forever. I have never seen a person put this much effort into pretending something didn't effect him.. And every step he tries to make it look good, it turns out making him look more p*ssy..

He should have just dropped a fukking record or never said a single word

40 hadnt done an interview since the battle. they asked he answered. it wouldve be strange for him not to speak on it.
i remember a xxl interview where they asked memphis bleek about ether around the time jay z became president of def jam.

i really dont think people care as much as yall do. drake is still drake.

well its an interview about 40 who's a bit of a recluse now and doesnt do them. he's never been asked. how could they not ask him?

The way you cats move the goal post is hilarious.

Drake does an interview with Bron, crying about the song 6 months later: "Nobody cares, people moved on."

Drake throws shots on "Omerta", etc. a full year later: "Nobody cares, people moved on."

Drake does another interview a year and a half later. Still crying: "Nobody cares, people moved on."

40 is asked about it in an interview, a full 2+ years later: "People just had to know his opinion on this supposedly irrelevant song we swear nobody cares about."

:heh:

Make it make sense man. Drake could talk about the song 5 years later and you'll be doing the same song and dance.

And the whole "Drake is still Drake....he's still popular!" shyt is goofy as fukk. You could say the same thing for Jay after "Ether"....BIG after "Hit Em Up"....and 99.99% of the diss records in history. That shyt has ZERO bearing on how a diss record is received, or it's legacy. It's crazy how you cats keep trying to throw in these special exceptions for Drake.

Like I said the reason "Ether" is....well, ether is because Jay went on the radio crying. Prior to that Jay could've came back. Hell, he tried to come back with "Supa Ugly".

And even the poll wasn't really a definitive nail in the coffin. It was fairly obvious to everyone that he felt like he lost after that radio interview, though.

What's crazy is there have been several "crying on the radio moments" for Drake since this song came out (the IG post, J. Prince having to step in and save him, multiple interviews about the song, etc.) and Drake stans are still trying to downplay it's impact.

So no one cares about it, but a very popular magazine is asking about it 2 years later so its readers can get a better perspective on a song apparently no one cares about:gucci:

move goal posts why? to gain what? ive said before drake lost. im a fan of pusha and drake and thug. thats more a mentality for a guy routing for a side w/ multiple posts in every drake and pusha related thread. like really, how make times do u think youve typed out these same talking points now?
i never claimed shots werent still being thrown or that people dont care.
only that its not as big a deal as anymore as thecoli makes it out to be. folks rejoicing in it like it happened yesterday.
dude asked what was the aftermath. drake is still drake. pusha's gained alot of notoriety he wouldnt have otherwise.
