Threads like this always expose who got into rap after the internet/social media.

Because if you cats presented these same arguments in person....no bullshyt, people would laugh in your fukking face.

Imagine if, after "Second Round KO"....LL fans were like :damn: "nah bro, LL got more money and a bigger house!"

Imagine if, after "Hit Em Up"....BIG fans were talking about :damn: "b bu but he's still selling records, that diss had zero impact!"

:mjlol:

People would legit stop associating with you.

If I found out today Drake's entire male fan base on The Coli was gay....I can't say I'd be surprised. I don't even know females that groupie out over him like yall do.

the song Stan is the reason people use Stan in conversations. Nas gets zero credit for that.

No before Nas referred to Jay as a Stan no one was using it other than to praise Eminem’s song, Nas saying you’re a Stan pushed it into common verbiage , first of foremost on the internet on forums like this very one AHH SOHH and then into the general public... FACTS.

Meh this is doing too much. I grew up on old school hiphop so that got into rap after social media is nonsense. I’m not even a drake fan like that. Pusha T was just a hating ass nikka who was always jealous of Wayne and Drake. And it would be hard to have a Pusha vs Drake convo in real life because Pusha doesn’t really have fans like that.

Push won the battle. Drake took the L, and I’m a fan but to say otherwise is revisionist history.

A better argument is that some of those bars on Duppy may have had a similar effect as Meek’s did. Where it wasn’t as sensational as what won the battle, but caused some residual bleeding later in their careers.

Meek leaking the ghostwriting rumors kinda stained Drake’s credibility long-term, although Drake won the public opinion battle w/ memes.

Drake’s criticisms on Pusha’s capping regarding the coke flow tails and running behind Ye as an old head, has kinda impacted my ear when I hear Pusha’s new solo stuff a bit. Music isn’t really moving the needle w/ out Drake subs attached. Although Push will always be credited with winning the battle as an MC in the court of public opinion, as he should.

You could make a list of the top ten disses right now and most had clear consequences or impact. Ether, Takeover, No Vaseline, The Bridge Is Over, Hit Em Up, Truth, etc...
Nas and Jay continued on the same trajectory after those records. Any feeling was temporary. 2Pac and Biggie both still sold millions. So on and so forth…

The point of the battle is to do battle and win. The only modern day beef that hurt someone’s career was Ja Rule vs. aftermath.
