Jay z is off beat

I think it’s a stylistic choice he makes at this point to just kind of rap where ever he wants to, weaving in and out of the pocket.

It ain’t for everyone. But it’s not an issue of him trying to ride beats and just not being able to do it.

He’s been doing this “I’m too cool to be bothered with rapping where the beat is telling me to” for a while now.

I get why some people don’t like it.

I don't love the style breh. Hear me out. I'm not really a fan of what he's doing, but I just think it's kind of a silly idea that arguably the GOAT is just no longer able to ride a beat.

I mean clearly he's wanting to rap like this. It just doesn't sound to me like he's trying to catch the beat but is unable to do it. And low key Jay always did shyt like this. Hovi Baby is a great example. He would kind of dance in and out of the beat, but it was super dope on Hovi Baby and actually sounded effortless.

What he's going for isn't landing with me like it's landing for some, but I absolutely think the shyt Hov is doing with his flow the past few years is on purpose.
