RG3 was not going to be a star by any means. All those spread option QB's basically failed after the defense figured it out. Shanny was stupid for running Trey, but this is a wake up call.

Niners will no way look like the Seahawks no time soon. It's a re-build and your front office plain dumb. No hope for you bums. At least you have your 12th man.

Trey Lance trade has been a disaster that would normally destroy a franchise for years to come. The only reason we aren't a last place team is because we drafted really well around that trade.

But now we are w/o our future QB and all those 1st/2nd rounders

I don't think the 1st rounders really matter tbh. They seem like they shyt the bed with first rounders. Although I don't think Trey is one of them. It's just doesn't make sense why they didn't get a QB like Matt Corral, Malik Willis, Desmond Ridder or Sam Howell. You never see that many QBs who were expected to go hire laying around like that. You pick Purdy? Really.

To be fair outside of Willis of course. I might take Purdy over any of those other guys we didn't expect Trey Lance to get hurt and we didn't know Jimmy would accept a restructure and stay. Purdy was the very last pick of this draft and he was drafted to be a #3 for now and maybe a future #2 so in that sense it was a success, I mean out playing Nate Sudfeld is still impressive for a rookie.

If I'm being honest, it didn't even look like Trey was even headed towards anything special (this season) anyway the way Shanny has used him so far. Usually when you have a franchise QB drafted as high as Trey he has unique skills that you build your offense around to highlight. In the few games that Trey has ever played in for this team there was never anything on display that made me think he had next. Dude doesn't have elite mobility like Lamar or an elite arm like Allen or Mahomes or Herbert or elite football IQ. Like lowkey even Jalen Hurts has looked better and he was a 2nd round pick, which is where a pure project should be drafted, not fukkin 3rd overall after a trade using 2 first round picks. The player selected there needs to have a unique skillset you can build your offense around. It's pretty much settled in my mind now that we should have picked Fields. You can't be drafted 3rd overall and have 2 seasons of 0 production. Like bro really sat for a year, lost to the Bears, went to the skrip club then broke his ankle. That's the story of his first 2 years in the NFL. That's...a tough look.
