After making the ill-advised move of working for some senile old CAC i'm unemployed for the first time in 10 years. So now i'm in the brink of brokeness and shyt is forcing me to come up with a more focused life/career plan..

I want to use this thread for motivation and ideas. I got less than $1K in the bank but i honestly think in the next year 365 days i'm gonna go from broke to ballin'... all i got to do is push. hopefully i update with positive news in a few months.

So anybody here successfully put a plan together that got them out their misery
through hardwork and execution? any stories or advice?

Ight... fk it, nobody replied. I'll just use the thread as a log/journal on my attempts of going from broke to balling. Hopefully the Mods let it ride cuz there's not much activity in this sub-forum and at least it's "different".

Everybody has an idea, but how many people will actually go through with it.

I've been thinking for a couple of months of starting a corporation which services small businesses in Uptown Manhattan/Bronx. At first it was an idea but I've been doing enough research to where its becoming more attainable and now the idea is an actual plan. :leon: The more realistic this project seems, the more motivation and pressure on MYSELF to push until its inception.

Creating a phone/web app is an integral part of my business plan. I tried reaching out to Web Devs but it seems nobody wants to fukking code. I tried reading into HTML5, Java and CSS but I would lose too much time learning + creating.
So while typing this message I got the idea of looking for someone on craigslist. Found a web developer and I'm driving out to Long Island to meet him.

At the same time, I'm experimenting with the "It's who you know" philosophy and reaching out to push my resume/build important connections. Since I'm not working, I need a way to generate more immediate income.

Hustle.

Is the funding for your new company coming out of your own pockets?

Are you borrowing from people in your circle or outside?

Did you write a business plan?

Yea i'll try to fund/do things myself as much as possible. I guess once things progress I'll use my circle for mini loans. I also plan on using my network of professorial friends for free assistance and perks (legal, political, PR)

I have a written plan but it doesn't have ALL the components of a business plan. Mostly a "What, Where, Why, How" with what I need to do in terms of getting started.

Most of it will be grinding on your part.

The plan is mostly to convince others that you know what you're doing. Based on it you should prepare pitches, how to sell your idea as fast as possible. Do you have a online-plan as well?

Well, you are putting yourself into a bad situation. You have a web developer who knows the technical aspects of your business. And it will be obvious to him that you are not technically saavy. If he walks out on you or even dies by accident, you are up the creek without a paddle.
