I just think its funny that theres a narrative among gamers and game journalists that this battle royale genre is already oversaturated. I dont even play these games but Im finding this to be silly. Clearly theres a massive playerbase, so multiple games that are similar will be able to thrive since the player count is so large.
Meanwhile in a much more niche genre like fighting games theres Street Fighter, Guilty Gear, Blaz Blue, DBZ, King of Fighters, Tekken, etc and fighting game fans actually want MORE games, not less.
PUBG has 450k people playing on steam right now.... I think any game dev would want to be that failure.
