It’s hideous on the PSVR 1 (and I assume on every other headset). The game is so dated, the graphics don’t translate over well enough. I also found the game nauseating which is something with VR that I’ve never been able to pinpoint what games will cause it and why because I’ve played some heavy movement games in vr fine and others not so much.
This is why VR will never take over and always be niche.

Who said that? It's not about the technology. It's the whole premise of it. Augmented Reality will probably take off before VR.
It's the same tech, AR will be able to go back and forth between VR and AR instantly.

Brodie. AR requires way less. I been a VR adopter for a minute now. It's a niche product. Not everyone can use it. It blocks u off from the world. It's not simple as sitting down and grabbing a controller and playing. Not everyone can stomach for more than a half hour. It's more active and not everyone has that ability. Functionally it's not for everyone and never will be. It's not gonna replace anything. It's gonna be it's own thing. But what I will say is AR requires way less. U can get a pair of glasses right now that has AR and it's already going far places. Once that is perfected that is way more plausible for everyday use.

Ya'll keep saying this like there haven't been several successful and actively used headsets out there for years.
You can't gauge the "success" of VR as a platform by comparing it to sales of consoles.

That's the point the...VR is SUPPOSED to block you from the outside world and put you INSIDE an experience unlike anything else.
AR and VR serve different purposes entirely.
People that enjoy VR enjoy it for that disconnect; the sense of immersion and scale you get.
AR is dope, but we really need to stop comparing the 2, at least in the context of this narrative that one isn't going to exist because of the other.

The uphill battle for VR will continue to be the cost of entry more than anything.
It's far outside of discretionary spending.
AR has a significantly better opportunity at being more cost effective but again, it's not the same experience so it isn't apples to apples.

I didn't say one isn't going to exist because if the other. I said VR will exist but it will continue to be a niche product for the reasons I listed. I'm not against VR. I'm saying this for the people who think it's gonna replace standard TV gaming. It will continue to exist and be it's own thing. I feel that AR will end up being more mainstream than VR for particular reasons. Neither are going to takeover standard gaming.

Yeah, I've said the same regarding it not taking over standard gaming (especially any time in the near future).
I don't defend VR as some kind of slam dunk win. I typically swat down people on here who dismiss the platform as simply a gimmick, especially when they haven't experienced games like Resident Evil in VR first hand. It wouldn't shock me in the slightest if PSVR support is put on the back burner within 2 - 3 years.
