$400 if I recall correctly.$550?
I forgot how much was PSVR 1 cost on launch day?
I had my fingers crossed that PSVR 2 would release at the same price.
I see what Sony is trying to do though.
They've been putting it out there that the cost of the consoles need to go up so to me it looks like they're starting the price increase with the PSVR2 with whatever mid gen upgrade to the console following suit at $550.
No way do I see them releasing the same exact PS5 for $50 more. Im expecting them to roll out the price increase against a new model (no matter how minuscule the "upgrades" would be).
I'd be more receptive to the $550 if inventory levels of the consoles weren't so abismal still and we had more console exclusive games.
Maybe I'm mellowing out with age but this gen continues to feel like a twilight zone mid-gen upgrade altogether.
I feel like PSVR 2 could easily wait another full year before releasing to give time for customers to settle in with their consoles.
I'm a firm believer in the technology. PSVR 1 blew me away and I'm excited for PSVR2.
It's just a timing situation for me in terms of the games.
The fact that it isn't backwards compatible really discourages me from dropping $550 on release day to only play one game (that I imagine will be more of a tech demo style game than anything, as were many of the launch PSVR games).
Resident Evil Village in VR make PSVR 2 a must buy regardless...I just will end up copping further down the line...who knows...I've been known to complain about this sort of thing and then let my video game nerdiness get the best of me and buy it off rip anyway.
