If that's the case, why does Sony and occasionally Nintendo sale 100+ million consoles and yet Microsoft can't seem to do so?:smugbiden:
Because people play on what their friends are playing on. It's why when the tide starts to rise it rises high, and when it's low, it's low and a slow rise.

Nintendo and Sony have a long lasting name and foothold in the industry and whole generations of players 1st systems are Nintendo and PlayStation.

When they buy a system they buy what they know, and their friends buy what their friends have to play with them.

It's a whole ebb and flow to the market.

Yes, they buy nintendo games on nintendo systems

Now show me how much people are playing mario odyssey, Metroid dread, yoshi, etc over their multiplayer titles like smash bros and mario kart

Funny when xbox 360 had the same amount of users as ps3 and even beat sony to the online multiplayer race. Everyone i knew back then played every multiplayer game on xbox, myself included.

Microsoft lost last gen when they stopped putting out games

No they lost that generation before it even started with always online and digital this and that talk and price point

It was a PR nightmare, they were trying to push adaption way to early and it killed them before any issue with exclusives.

No that blunder is not why xbox one got destroyed for 7 years, it failed due to the lack of actual content being released.

Ps3 also had a horrible launch and rebounded by mid gen

PlayStation had a horrible launch but not bad press.

It was just too expensive in a nutshell.

Microsoft had all that plus a ton of bad press and no goodwill built up

You're being selective in your reasoning here and I'm sure you know this too. Microsoft also have been in the gaming industry for 20 years now. Even came in the game when the industry actually boomed. And yet even still so, never once cracked 100 mill. Even with more power and money than their competitors more often than not. Sony didn't have a long lasting name when they kicked in the door and cracked 100 mill with their first swing.

But you keep believing it's something that it isn't.

Yes, the execs at microsoft just started talking about building a stronger 1st party line up of games going into the launch of a new console for no reason, right?
