Y’all should’ve known this was coming lol, that’s why I don’t be wanting them to do reboots to childhood classics anymore because it’s always some agenda going on. Plus it’s Disney we’re talking about, y’all really shouldn’t be surprised.

The Proud Family always did had that one boy with the dyed short hair and the basketball shorts and the sweatband on his head whom I always thought was kinda sweet (he prolly was a limp wrist frfr) but one thing I respect about cartoons back in those days is that never went OD with any of the “he/she is definitely gay” characters like Mr. Simmons from Hey Arnold or Mr. Ratburn from Arthur or that episode of the pink bunny and her cat gf from Courage the Cowardly Dog.

The cartoons in the past were implicit about gay characters because they didn’t have a choice. At the time, they weren't allowed to mention it but they could drop hints. That's why the characters weren't confirmed to be gay until years later when it was acceptable on a kids show.

There are still shows that do it without being over the top. The Loud House had Clyde's parents be gay, but they never call attention to it. He just has two fathers and it's accepted. :yeshrug:

Exactly this. If it seems like gay characters are being forced in kids cartoons now, it’s only because they were never allowed to really exist - aside from vague hints here and there - on kids programming in the past. This is all a relatively new trend. I still remember back in 2014, when something as minor as Korra and Asami just staring at each other, was a huge deal.

I don’t see the problem here. We have no idea what these characters will even be, how they’ll be written. And regardless, the main black male character will still be heterosexual, will still be happily married to a black woman, and will still have a black family. That’ll never change.

It's been real
