I remember lurking a thread here about men learning to be stoic. I don't know why this thread reminded of that, but the idea is so on point and relevant to the topic.

A stoic, masculine man sets standards for himself. He's not like a tree in the wind blowing everywhichaway. We need more of that in our community. If for no other reason than to keep your cards close by staying consistent so not to let the enemy know what you're capable of.

I guess you’re not that good looking huh
:picard:

So how is that true masculinity? Also women do the same all the time so why criticize men?
Wait, are you asking for women to "protect" you?

I hesitate to even use the term, but afaik, 'true masculinity' operates regardless of conditions, regardless of the female in question. If your code is to defend and protect bp where you can, that includes bw, that's what you signed up for. :yeshrug:

Fixed.
:camby: to these broads doin all this crying...no matter the shade all these broads got it sweet in this society. Because quiet as kept , nobody's plight (if u will) is equivalent to the black mans, INCLUDING our women. And they know it thats why they employ alot of the :mjpls:tactics that they do.
And nikkas dont wanna speak on it cuz they afraid of women. But these hoes just as out of line as everybody....always running to the White man whenever they feel the need to exercise some sort of control over a nikka. Whether it be calling 12 for any lil dispute and feigning domestic abuse, or putting nikkas on papers who they kno taking care of they kids.....and im not even gne speak on how many abortions our women have committed over the past 60 years. That shyt is factually GENOCIDE man.

Yall keep deifying these broads never holding them accountable, enabling them, and it benefits nobody. Thats why our communities are like how they are, because they're basically a quasi Matriarchy .

So the black man, as a collective, are the biggest simps on the planet. Broads like the one in the op need to be taught that her role is as that as a wife and as a mother. She would get all the protection in the world if she understand that....but if yall nikkas aint teaching em that, or worse yet, are AFRAID to tell em that; all it leads to is these circular gender "debates" .

Tighten up black man. Aint shyt getting resolved til WE fix our communities, and it starts in the home

Wow, just..... wow

@HarlemHottie, you're a woman right? I find it very interesting that you dapped, and quoted a post suggesting that a fellow woman isn't attractive.

This lack of respect for black folks is a systemic issue. Women are indeed guilty of this too.

its funny to me that women are just finding out that men have no interest in you if you attractive when 1) this was never hidden, and 2) women do the same thing.

it boggles my mind that women that spend 300+ days shytting on men and saying we are ******s and trash are upset when men act like trash.
oochie wally one mic lol
I don't know about protect per say but respect should absolutely be the standard.

Back when I used to take public transportation, on more than a few occasions I had men size me up and offer their seats for me. Meanwhile there's an older woman carrying bags standing nearby who they completely ignored!

Anyway, that's why I thank God for my daddy. He had so much respect for women and even as a little girl, I felt so proud of his display of true masculinity when he never stopped opening doors for ladies even when some of them didn't bother to thank him. Little things like that stood out to me.

Too many men nowadays reserve their respect for women they're attracted to, and as a man you emasculate yourself if you allow external factors to dictate the standards you should set for yourself.
women like yourself have a terrible habit of trying to define and police what masculinity is. you completely ruin your argument by trying to do so. you don't know what masculinity is or what black masculinity is because you are not a man just like i don't know what it is like to be a black woman and i wouldn't dare try to tell a black woman how she should live her life. y'all need to stop.

:stopitslime: Guys protect women even the ones you don't like. But remember protect means various things depending on who you ask.

I personally don't take protect as in some kinda overt chivalry, to me it means just give a motherfukk, particularly about black women you know and in your community even if there's nothing in it for you. Seems like nikkas is jumping straight to gender war, playing super hero in a domestic abuse situation, I think it's a little more subtle than that.

A lot of men (not just black) will let you know that they view women as some sort of add on, some type of plug in to be used in their life, for their betterment. Either to fukk on, as some sort of care taker.

It's a value judgement that doesn't always stay confined to the context of dating/sex and it works both ways. I don't want to be valued less because I'm not your 'type', I don't wanna be lumped into the "nikkas ain't shyt" pile just because the only men you tend to acknowledge are ones you trying to fukk or come up off of.

:mjlol: I enjoy and benefit from patriarchy. I have no problem with it.

At the time, just off the strength of racial pride, i expect our men to defend our women.

However, that becomes difficult when the very same women expecting protection shyt on bm everyday.

Our duty as bp trying to pull our communities back together after ther ravages of the 80s and 90 is to... come back together. We should all be on the humble (toward each other), in an effort to reconnect and rebuild strong families and communities.

Where your ppl from?

Well then let's just settle this argument and let black women continue to disrespect black men, black men continue to disrespect black women and refrain from discussing our POV if you are of the opposite gender.
