Get this shyt all the way the fukk out of here
it's not the kind of game where you upgrade your Ford Pinto until it can compete with F-1 cars :yeshrug:

in career mode you race for a team and they give you a car to race with. sponsors will also invite you to race for them in various events

Excuses. This suppose to be so realistic yet you can't bring your car to the mechanic and upgrade it. That's like battlefield dropping a game where you can't customize your gun

You have to understand who we are talking about here. Not just the clown from the coli
But a guy who has no interest in racing games anyway. Any real racing fan would be intrigued and hopeful
Most people here will just hype up whatever is exclusive I.E. why DriveClub's thread is about 20x larger than this one

that's not really realistic. real motorsport is highly regulated, and the cars tend to be essentially the same. it's supposed to come down to the skill of the driver, not how much money he dumped into his car

I don't know this to he the case in any racing game.

There's a lot of room between "no customization" and "totaly unreal customization"

I think PC would benefit from having some customization. Being that they hand you the cars it kinda makes them feel expendable or not important.

After racing most of the tracks I've lost interest in the game. Without that constant goal of buying/customizing new cars, I just don't see a reason to go back.

PC racing games have always been super focused on the race models and dynamics, everything else has been secondary to that. If they introduced heavily modded cars people would want everything to be taken into account, like replacing an exhaust system they would want the weight difference to matter, they'd want body kits to have actual aerodynamics modeled properly to them.

So, most developers don't even bother because they know in the end that it would take entirely too much work to get it the way PC gamers want it.

It can be done and is being done with the forza series. Things like exhaust and body kits have a profound effect on the physics at play.

Forza's racing model is no where close to games like IRacing or Rfactor, it's not comparable bruh, they want EVERYTHING to be realistic.

It would take so much work because of how much they'd demand.

We are talking about project cars here. Its no more sim than forza or GT.

And its not the physics that those games more sim. Its everything else surrounding the race. Pit stops, damage, wear and tear, race styles, ect. That makes those games more sim.

I haven't seen where there would be that kind of customization in my career. I went from karts, to superkarts, to GT3. these are classes without a lot of room for 'upgrading'. and like I said, you race for a team, and don't even own the cars you race

to be clear, there is "customization" as far as tuning, choosing your tire compound, and such. and some cars have various colors/liveries to choose from

honestly I've found the progression in the career mode quite addicting, and I put Wolfenstein TOB and Invisible Inc on the back burner because of it

This game was crowdfunded by PC gamers, they do not care about customization like that so it wasn't a priority.

And this game has a more realistic suspension model than Forza :ld: And it is the physics and driving models that make Rfactor and Iracing more realistic, that's half of what people talk about when it comes to them. You don't take the right line and you lose, meanwhile in games like Forza and GT drafting is so overdone you could take a shytty line and just jump on someones bumper and magically you gain speed @ a ridiculous rate :russ:

You speak for all PC gamers?

I guess you got a lot of experience playing both forza and PC huh?
