There aren't cures for viruses. They are working on a vaccination but even speeding through it, it wouldn't be available until next season, and then it will be like the flu shot where it's an educated guess of which strain is going to be the most common. Part of the reason why such a big deal is being made out of this is that so many people who have had it were asymptomatic for possibly weeks before they started feeling sick, so there's no telling how much it was spread with people not even realizing they were carrying it. For the most part the people that have died from it didn't realize they were sick until it was too late to do much of anything for treatment/already had immuno complications of some kind.
