Well, democrats lost because they alienated their own base. The overwhelming amount of pro palestinian supporters were democratic voters.

This is the actual correct take. Let me be clear, though Biden was abominable on Palestine, the thing so may just can't grasp is that things can always get worse. Trump took $100 million for Miriam Adelson to let Israel colonize the West Bank. We've seen the dystopian video he released about building casinos in Gaza. The reality is that the world is a messy place, and sometimes you get two choices - a bad one, and an even worse one. I have no doubt that if Trump was in office it would have been even worse than the nightmare Biden allowed in Gaza.

As you indicated, polls show that Dem voters support Palestine more than Israel. However, Biden is an ancient zionist and the Dem party (as the Republican one) has been captured by their interests. The only move here was to vote Kamala, and hope that she would have a change in direction since she refused to undermine Biden while campaigning. There was simply far more of a possibility of that happening with a Dem than a Republican as Republican voters don't give a shyt and actively cheer the treatment of Palestinians. This was a bad miscalculation on the part of many Palestinian supporters.

That being said, Biden showed the power of Israel in that he was willing to potentially tank his re-election chances (and US democracy) to uphold current US policy there. It's a mess all around, and as I mentioned, there are was only a bad choice and an even worse one on this issue. However, when you take into account all of the OTHER issues as well, there was only one choice for anyone sane/with a modicum of intelligence.
