I was born in 92', what was it like for you older cats in here when "When Doves Cry" came out? I was watching a Prince vs Michael fan made documentary on Youtube and they showed clips showing how that basically was when Prince broke through. The crazy thing is that Purple Rain the title track didn't come out as a single until the album was already selling like Hotcakes. It reminds me of how the Thriller video came out almost a year after the album.

I wish i was around that time to see it but damn Prince really was that big.

There was nothing that sounded like it. From the electric guitar notes that started the song off, I was instantly hooked. I remember running to the tv every time the video came on. When Doves Cry was all over the radio too. On the cassette that song started Side B off....

As thorough as he was with his paperwork as far as his publishing was concerned, how the fukk did Prince not have a very specific will in place considering the fact that he wasn't married or have any kids. that's one of the things about all of this that doesn't make a lot of sense.

I know there's an aspect of putting a will together that makes you feel old/adult/near death, but a man of means like him shoulda have been very thorough about what would happen to his assets and money after he died.
