Kobe and bird's scoring is a wash probably. Bird is a better rebounder and passer but Prime kobe defense is >>>>> than bird's so just based on that I would chose kobe.
Bird led the league in defensive win shares 4 times and kobe NEVER

Kobe being a good defender is the most overrated part of his game his all team defense awards are about as legit as Jeter's gold gloves

I don't see what was so much more difficult about the Lakers' roads. And that's ignoring that the teams the Celtics faced in the Finals were all much, much, much better than the teams the Lakers did sans the Celtics.

He's trolling its best to ignore him.

Bird had a waaaaaay better front court than Kobe, smh. He had Hall of Famers in Parrish and McHale, you killed your own argument. ALSO, a bench player in Cedric "Cornbread" Maxwell won a Finals MVP over Bird, Kobe won 2 when he was the sole leader and other times Shaq won. Oh, Larry's supporting cast>>>>Kobe's supporting cast. Also, Magic was "helped" more than Kobe, look at his cast, and Lebron in Miami is "helped " more too.

Yeah bird had 2 all stars in the FC and Kobe only had one, plus Mchale Destroys Pau. In general Kobe only has had one AS at a time.

the league in the 80's you needed multiple HOF talents to win, now not so much, but they each had better talent than 95% of the league back in their respective times.

How do you not need multiple HOF talents to win now? The heat just won back to back and about to 3 peat with 3 HOF's.

You always needed multiple HOF's. Bird just had more talent then 98% of players

Oh and Kobe definitely faced significantly better defensive teams in the playoffs and In the finals it's not close.

I don't think there is any all time great who faced better defensive teams then Kobe on average in the playoffs

I could have told you this without even seeing the chart...

Relative to era is my argument.

Even Kobe had HOFs on his team, he didn't have the volume bird had, but also didn't face the HOF laced teams like Bird as well.

So in a sense it evened out.

I picked Kobe but on second thought I think I may go with Bird. He's very underrated and his all around game is on par with anyone's. He may not have been as explosive as scorer as Kobe but he was a better rebounder and a better passer. Either choice is a good one but i'm leaning towards Bird.

DWS is not a good state for measuring defense, try DRAMP :ok:
