Y'all do know Dwight is tanking the season, right?

And still 1st in rebounds, 5th in blocks and 4th in fg%. If he wants to play for your team he will beast.

Not arguing if he's one of the greats but to judge him based off recent events and erase his whole career prior is stupid.

David Robinson's best year

29.8ppg
10.7rpg
4.8apg
3.3bpg
1.7spg
51% FG

Ewing
28.6ppg
10.9rpg
4.0bpg
2.2apg
1.0spg
55% FG

Whether he's tanking or not is irrelevant, he's not in any way shape or form seeing the Admiral or Pat. Those dudes were monsters by comparison, the point of this thread is that there are a few people on here saying he's on their levels.

Dwight is probably hurt right now bc I've never seen him play this bad.

In that last playoff series against the Hawks( I think), he was flat dominant.

And believe it or not he leads the NBA in rebounds this season.

BUT.....that being said, he's NOT offensively better than Ewing or Robinson in their prime. Not even a comparison. Both would take him 10ft out and abuse him.

Defensively hes better than Ewing in some ways bc he's a little quicker and a netter jumper, but not better than Robinson at all. David Robinson is probably the quickest/fastest 7'0er ever.

Robinson and Ewing would give Dwight that work. People forget that both Ewing and Robinson are a legit 7'1" and Howard is like 6'10". Couple that with the fact that both are more skilled, and Robinson is an equal athlete. Dwight would've been a PF in the 90s.

Just to make sure we're working with facts here, David Robinson was measured in 1989 to be 7-0 w/o shoes. Pat has never been measured w/o shoes but he is probably 6-10-6-11 w/o shoes because he was a little bit shorter than Robinson and is as tall or perhaps a little taller than Hakeem Olajuwon who has stated he is 6-10 before (though he does not specify whether he's 6-10 in shoes or w/o shoes). Dwight measured 6-9 w/o shoes in 2004. Some of Dwight fans have suggested to me that he grew due to his age, which is plausible, but if he did he does not appear to have grown to more than a few imperceptible fractions of an inch more because he still looks visibly shorter than even very aged or :flabbynsick: guys with bad posture like Ewing or 70 year old Bill Russell (Russell was 6-9 5/8ths w/o shoes in his day).

Got to give some credit to Dwight though, he is 270lbs, which is heavier than both Ewing or Robinson were in their "prime" by at least 20 pounds, and a 7-4.5 inch wingspan is a typical 7 footers armspan so he isn't totally physically inadequate. His game offensively is ridiculously unpolished though, and his footwork looks mechanical. You can tell he grew up getting by on physical gifts, never actually being taught legitimate big man play. He's a great rebounder, up there with many all-time rebounders when he's healthy, I'll def give him that, but his defense is a bit overrated and his offense is crude and not all-time caliber at all. Oh, and I think D-Rob is visibly more agile than Dwight so Drob is a better athlete in my eyes - don't know any comparable figures for comparison but he just moves like a better athlete

Lombardi Trophies in Allen Park
the-coli proves their lack of Basketball knowledge. Nothing suprises me on this site. This is the site that believe MJ would score 45ppg in today's NBA and Wilt and Russell would be role players today.

A 7 footer with Wilt's skills would never be a role player, but his activity off the court would still make him a role model. :cook:

Ewing and D.Rob would absolutely dominate today's NBA. I'll take either one of those two over Dwight in every single category other than rebounding. His injury is not an excuse. If anything that should impact his rebounding and the nikka is still leading the L in rebounds. But he can't give you anything with his back to the basket though. nikka get's stripped like a girl with low self-esteem trying to keep a guys attention by any means necessary when he tries to make his little weak ass moves. I don't see how you can even be up for all-time great consideration if your team can't just toss you the ball and say "Do work!".

Keep in mind, Ewing, DRob had to grab boards against great big men.

Honestly I'm not ready to give a clear edge to Dwight. You had 5-7 big men battling for boards back then. Then throw Barkley, Malone, and Rodman in the mix makes for a clogged lane on an almost nightly basis. That's about 10 super competitive guys trying to see who's the best
