The people being deported are HAITIAN, they are HAITIAN, they are NOT DOMINICAN.. THEY NEVER WERE DOMINICAN, the law WAS NOT RETROACTIVE!! We never gave citizenship by birth, and we gave 18 months for them to get their papers and asked for basic documentation..

In the Dominican Republic a lot of things are going on but one of them is definetely not “genocide” or “racism” and people should get their facts straight before judging another country that is not your own.

First of all, many Haitians (the majority) have been living in the Dominican Republic illegally and undocumented. Which in other countries being undocumented is just not acceptable. Haitians started attacking the Dominican Embassy in Haiti technically declaring war when many of them were making money and a living by living here illegally.



The Dominican Republic never fought back but they gave Haitians 12 months to get residency or to go back to Haiti and then an additional 6 which is 18 months in total to get documented. Currently, the 18 months already passed and they did not go away or get documented and they are being deported out of the country because that is the LAW, Like the United States of America would deport Mexicans that are undocumented, Of course, they are not being treated very well but when people that are living undocumented in a country resist against going away, then every country would just start taking more extreme measures and this sadly could end in someone getting hurt or dying, This also happens in the United States when Mexicans are being deported and they resist then violence comes because that’s just the process of deporting people that are living illegally in a country

Now,it is INCREDIBLY rude and hypocritical for people in OTHER countries to judge the Dominican Republic of racism and genocide when no one is murdering Haitians and no one is deporting them because of the color of their skin. This would be the same process if they were white and let’s not forget that most Dominicans also have dark skin. It would be rude to deport Dominicans living in the USA just because Haitians are being deported. It is not any Dominican citizen’s fault that the government has decided to deport ILLEGAL Haitians living in the Dominican Republic. I don’t see the reason to hate the Dominican Republic for deporting Haitians when no one hates the USA for deporting Mexicans.

This is something an 18-year old Dominican named Daniella Gamundi wrote and published in Facebook today for the people judging the Dominican Republic for their decisions (translated to English):

“Haven’t you seen the video of Haitians burning a Dominican flag? You never saw the musical video of Haitians saying they will declare war in the Dominican Republic because that territory belongs to them? Do you not know about all the things that made the Haitians in the Dominican Embassy in Haiti? And still the Dominican government gives them 8 months to get legalized. So they can be treated as a Dominican and the United States still has the nerve and gall to say that this is genocide, that we are following the legacy of a certain Roberto Trujillo. True, many Dominicans don’t treat Haitians worthily, but does United States treat Mexicans like kings? It is true that they are seeking a better life, because you feel bad just sitting watching your people die of hunger and disease and you’re not doing anything to change. But here they do not get jobs they do is steal and kill Dominicans. Yes, many things are wrong that Dominicans have done with Haitians but also many things that are wrong Haitians have on Dominican territory.

To add to this, when she says who is Roberto Trujillo? she means that people are saying that history is repeating itself comparing it to what happened when Trujillo was president (which is not true because he killed Haitians because he hated them and he was racist but no one is killing because of pleasure or hate right now) but his name is not even Roberto. He’s name is Rafael Leonidas Trujillo and he was a Dominican tyrant.

Also, she is not trying to say that ALL Haitians are thieves or murderers because many of them have jobs but also many of them DO kill and rob in Dominican territory. Some Dominicans rob and kill too and this does not make them any better but Haitians are here illegally taking the opportunities Dominicans have given them for granted and declaring war on Dominicans and the only consequence they had for this action was getting deported if they were illegal. Just stop the judging and the hate. This is not genocide or racism it is just the law doing something that should’ve been done a long time ago and something that any country would do.

According to your sig you're a lawyer. Please, from your professional experience and from the knowledge you have of the situation give me a breakdown of what happened and why it's wrong.
