They don't even realize we already live in a highly socialist country. They benefit from welfare everyday but think food stamps are a problem when they themselves are poor or barely middle class. It's sickening

it really is cause one thing i learned from my family, being a family of immigrants who immigrated here in the early to mid 1900s from greece, not knowing a lick of english and POOR as hell for generations is just how difficult it is to get out of deep poverty and i’m white, my family didn’t have any generational wealth, still don’t.. my parents had to scrape up money to pay for their parents funerals and tbh that’s the reality for your avg middle class white person. but a lot of whites get out of that deep poverty to ‘middle class’ aka one or two missed paychecks to back to struggle and they’ll still look down on the poor.. and i have aunts and uncles like that! it’s like.. really? you forget where you came from huh? like grandma wasn’t living off food stamps living in the projects with 8 kids?

i’ll never as long as i live be a person who thinks snd feels that way and has so much cognitive dissonance.
