A Russian powerlifting champion suffered horrific injuries while attempting a 400kg squat at the World Raw Powerlifting Federation Championships near Moscow.

Alexander Sedykh, the reigning champion of the lift, had to be rushed to the hospital after he collapsed while attempting to push up the monster weight.

The below video will show his legs shaking while he holds the barbell on his shoulders and prepares for the squat.

Tragedy struck soon after:

Sedykh fractured both his knees in the incident and also ruptured his quadriceps muscles.

“The main thing is that I must lie motionless in bed for two months,” Sedykh said.

“Then I’ll be taught how to walk again.

“It’ll take time to recuperate.

“I’ve had my quadriceps resewn and my knees put back together.”

Quadriceps resewn and knees put back together and putting 800 plus pounds of free weights and body weight. That's easily a ton on poundage on that cacs lower extremity. That's allI needed to see and I don't feel sorry for this fool.
Wheelchair bound when he is 50

All these powerlifters end up bad
