Kemp said from the beginning that Ghost would end up dead or in jail

They already did half a season of him in jail so what's surprising?

How often does the main character in a role like that not do 1 or the other in a movie's ending or series finale?

Aside from being alive, he ultimately ended up winning in many aspects in the end and got the last laugh

The fact is we all love Ghost and want to blatantly reason that we never want him to leave any iteration of this show. I look at Book 2, 3 4 and 5 like Hobbs and Shaw to F&F so yeah.. if they called book 2 POWER SEASON 7, I'd be more pissed... but I'm content with Ghost exiting the original series... they changed his characteristics too much in the last season anyway

Ghost was bout to be on top of his world and we all was down for that cuz we loved the character but I fell in love with the show when Ghost was a serial killer... I was not interested in watching a show where Ghost was 100% clean lol.. a character like that rarely rides off into the sunset unscathed

There's plenty of other ppl they can add to the spinoffs with proven acting chops that'll keep me intrigued.. hell, the Omar Epps casting with 50 narrating has me hype for Raising Kanan now

Ghost didn’t have to be in the show anymore, that’s fine.

I don’t even know if season 2 is still in NY, but Ghost didn’t have to be a focus at all; he could have been just the LT. Governor and we don’t see his life at all and maybe he makes an appearance here and there.

If he was to go out, at least let it be a respectable way. Kemp talking about Shakespeare n shyt, when no one was thinking shyt about that the previous seasons, shyt most of season 6 was like regular power except with the ghosts poppin up n shyt, that’s when the show got weird.

I’m just saying Ghost could have went out like a G if he had to go out. He could have been in a fight with Jason and they both injure each other real bad, and both go. But instead kemp fukkin makes the most hated, most bytch made character the one to do it to Ghost, and for a shytty reason as well.

The bytch nikka said Ghost was ruining his future, that bytch did it to himself!! No one told him to hang with kanan, no one told him to handle the cop, no one told him to set tommy up, even his mother told him that she was gonna handle Ghost.

That little fukk did all of this shyt himself, and kemp is talking about how she is making it like how Ghost had to do what he had to do with breeze the same thing as this, when it was completely different.

She just didn’t like Omari.

I think what fukked up a lot of their plot choices is her attempting to explain stuff acting like she's writing on that Shakespeare level. There's some cringe worthy plot points in other shows too, but their writers haven't been as vocal about why such and such happened like Kemp does and her explanations usually make you look at shyt a 2nd or 3rd time and be like :mindblown:

I remember posts where ppl were trippin off the timeline... that wouldn't have even been a big deal if she hadn't said something in the earlier seasons that made no sense

For me, it's not even the fact that Ghost died anymore. Most people in his position end up dead or in jail anyway, like Walter White. So if they came up with a way to kill off Ghost that honored the world of Power and did right by the character, I would have been okay with it.

But they decided to invest in Tariq's character long-term and center the show around him to the detriment of everything else. I don't see why. I'm assuming nobody was interested in his character before they started writing more material for him, and they didn't even make him the antagonist or the main villain. We were supposed to see him as the good guy, which was the biggest mistake they could have made with him.

There was no emotional impact when Ghost died. We all knew it was Tariq that killed him, we found out about his death weeks before the shooter was even revealed, the scene itself was hokey and melodramatic, and that was it. Ghost just died and it didn't matter to the rest of the characters because they hated him anyway. I'm glad we got that scene where Ghost died in Tommy's arms because in that moment, they were honoring the show's universe and the most important relationship in that universe (Ghost and Tommy's brotherhood). Everything else surrounding Ghost's death was just a slap in the face to the character.

tariqs acting improved:ehh:. the dude who portrays 2-bit is very believable, if he's not in a sequel its a waste.:francis:

ghost being belligerent with people like tate who don't know him as ghost seemed really off since he was so measured in his interractions with civilians before.
