The series overall was good but not enough to stand with the great series we all have come to love

The end of the series I admit was entertaining at least enough to keep me interested

But they did a horrible job in convincing most of us tariq is the new ghost

And a even more horrible job of convincing the audience to hate ghost enough that we could accept him being killed off. His last arrogant egotistical readings on all the other major characters were entertaining, the problem is it was so out of his previous character that was displayed in the prior seasons even before episode 10 that most of the audience didnt buy it even to the point many thought the writers were giving us alternate versions that would later reveal it was a dream. It was an attempt to get us to hate ghost but it fell short. I've heard so much "I'm done with power" I dont know what it will take to get people back on board.

Maybe word of mouth that the new series is really good might bring the crowd back but right now I have very little interest.

why would you expect a spin off to be as successful? That rarely happens

I don’t, but they do since they already have 4 spinoffs/prequels planned.

They should have held off on announcing the titles for the other shows 3 as what happens if Power Book II:Ghost flops and gets cancelled earlier than planned? That means that the other ones will more than likely get scrapped as well.

They probably felt like they had to include it as an incentive to get people to watch the finale after the leak, but they should have just focused on showing Book II and not everything else.

The 'Power' Cast Speaks On The End Of An Epic Era

A really good read that makes you hate the characters less and provided some good tidbits from the show and the real life characters:

  • Ghost has committed 20 murders, while Tommy has upwards of 30.
  • Even Michael Rainey Jr. alluded that his character was wrote as unrealistic and like shyt with his hatred for Ghost. He also admitted that his relationship with his father is estranged in real life as it’s portrayed on the show and is what makes him relate to the character.
  • According to 50, he wasn’t always estranged from his son like it alwaus seemed. 10 years actually. It’s rather candid how open he is about it in the article compared to the way he talks and speaks of him on social media and out in the part. Makes the social media thing seem like a front.
  • No montage/barely any mention about Angela in the article compared to every other character on the cover who got one.
  • Even Kemp knows that people don’t think highly of the show and doesn’t know what the legacy of the show is/will be
  • I feel like Saxe’s character should be on the cover as well since he’s been instrumental to the show as well and last one standing from the beginning from the original task force.

With all the texts flying around from every main character in the show, are we to believe that the authorities wouldn't check into them for drug and murder cases?

:jbhmm:

The diner Q hits up after dropping Tasha off has him all on camera but Truth doesn't have any cameras inside or outside the building that would clearly show who was there?

:jbhmm:

All the plans that they came up with and how they were communicating amongst each other would be damn near impossible to pull off in this day and age

i gave up expecting these characters to have rules they abide to as criminals. the wire was instrumental in teaching mainstream audiences the true thinking of a criminal on all levels. unwritten laws you adhere to, never on the phone, dont speak in rooms, always have muscle watch your step,

people on power always talked on the phone, half the time didnt wear gloves, cameras never seemed to catch anyone doing anything, spoke of criminal activity freely anywhere even in the middle of manhattan, rolled alone all the time, text after text implicating themselves. etc. clearly these guys lived in a world im not familiar with.
