Probably the following reasons: to sell her ruthless, intolerable to nonsense demeanor to the audience, the show is in the season finale and they are trying to progress things quickly, and lastly, but not least, it’s Power.

IMO, they killed off Obi hastily. In more competent hands and if they were not in a such a rush to move along, they could have build on the Obi-Cane-Dru dynamic regarding their relationships with Noma.

Obi deserved to die. He was disloyal. He pledged allegiance to Tariq.

You mean the same loyal soldier that brokered a side deal with the enemy?
