congress is literally mocking americans, they stay not passing legislation, caused at least a dozen government shut downs, take recess, and now won't get their shyt together to elect a fukking speaker. what other profession making $170k/yr gets paid and rewarded with continual employment to not do shyt :snoop:

That's a pretty weak "both sides" type answer, especially given how much progressive legislation has historically been passed even with the presence of the filibuster.

But what benefecial bills would you say in particular were halted as a result of failing to remove the filibuster?

Demd had 60 votes for the ACA.

If you are talking more recently, there are only 2 vocal dems (maybe a few more silent ones) against eliminating the filibuster. How many Republicans would vote to eliminate the filibuster?
We can use the ACA as an example. Lieberman threatened to use the filibuster to block the public option from being in the ACA. It got removed from the bill. 14 years later, there is still no public option.
