That's because to get elected to the senate you have to win a state wide election and to get elected to the house you just have to win a district in a state.

I know. Statewide elections forces Senators to be more moderate, more mature and less crazy. Granted it hasn't changed someone like Ron Johnson, who is acting like he won the election by 20% when he only won by 2 or 3%.
US House elections are districts filled with partisans and extremists, so their elected House officials are a direct reflection of their district, which is a safe seat where they would win with 70 or 80% of the vote.

all they had to do was stand up to trump after 2020, and tell trump he was a fukking loser. if the republican senate had impeached him, trump would be an irrelevant retiree in florida, and biden's team would be telling him retiring with grace would be better than losing to desantis
instead, trump is about to give the democrats the greatest voter turnout gift in 2024 that we'll see in our lifetimes

It's the Trump effect taken to the next level. Trump can't even control or weaponize his mob anymore as they won't listen to him. His mob has moved onto electing people more crazy than he is. When he tells them what to do they just tune him out. The republicans have been breeding this style of voter for a long time. Trump just capitalized on it for a short while but now nobody is in control of that party and their voters anymore.
