I remember the House fukkery Caucus was so bad that they made John Boehner step down, and he had a majority of like fifty or sixty at the time.

McCarthy is a lil bytch with no charisma; I don't even know why he wants to have this position with a five-person majority, but he also is no John Boehner, which is wild because Boehner was soft. McCarthy is going to have this job for about ten minutes even if he does get the position because he'll have to cut deals that allow the HFC to easily remove him anyway.

I assume McCarthy will get the votes, too, but these HFC types are true believers.

Some folks don't believe there's going to be a Republican Civil War, but the GOP maintained power by letting the craziest of the true believers into the party. These are the "if we don't get what we want, burn it down" types. If they feel that way about the country, why wouldn't they feel that way about a political party?

EDIT: But I think it's likely that the HFC votes "present" strategically this time around to give McCarthy a narrow win.
