What'd he say?

Said that he's a shytty team player that effectively tries to step on younger and mostly ethnic reporters because they have better relationships with people who are closer to the news than him (specifically referring to people who have relationships bwoth players and people close to them, whereas the majority of Woj's sources are in the front office). Also called him out for shytting on LeBron because he doesn't have access to him.

They were actually low key dropping bombs throughout that segment. Amin and Jemele's basic point was that you can feel however you want about Nichols, the real smoke needs to be for the people in charge of making the decisions. Also called out that CAA basically runs ESPN right now.

Amin and Jemele can be corny, but I get what they're saying. Basically that they don't personally have proof that she's actually racist, but that this clip is a terrible look.

Also shout out to Dan for pointing out that the content and timing of that story about Maria wanting Stephen A Smith money is looking real funny.

I actually noticed that a few days ago when I looked on CAA’s website. Taylor is their client plus a lot of other ESPN personalities as well.

Dan's mentioned it a couple of times before in saying that Nick Khan (the guy that used to be head of television for CAA) was actually the guy in charge of ESPN, but Amin really wanted to drive the point home. Had Jemele wanting to pump the breaks, since CAA represents her. :mjlol:

WWE Nick Khan? Lol

Having that many clients under the same agency at ESPN is insane. People are legit competing for the same jobs and roles under the ESPN umbrella. :mindblown:

Yeah, that guy. It was a pretty good trade up for him, though. He left CAA, and at least as of right now, he's the guy who's ACTUALLY in charge over there.

And ESPN effectively did this to themselves. Jobs elsewhere haven't been as stable or secure over the last 20 years, so you're bound to eventually end up having a glut of people with the same representation. CAA at this point is just doing what they sell themselves to their clients as being able to do, and using their client base as leverage for the exact same client base.

Wake.
That Local Hour with Amin and Jemele was good. I got no problem with Amin’s viewpoint because honestly there is nuance to the whole issue that does just get skipped over with simple “She’s racist - the end”

It’s funny because when I was talking to my girl about this whole situation I had to put her onto that Liam Neeson sound trying to drive home my point of people can be down for a cause and diversity…until it affects their pockets then it’s :whoa:

Yeah, I really enjoyed their talk. I at least didn't know that this all started because Nichols had the Finals job in her contract. Completely changes the context for me.

Ultimately the problem is with the higher ups at ESPN. There's no reason they couldn't have figured something out with having them both host, and all this coming out not too long after the story about Taylor's supposed contract expectations reeks of them trying to play all sides against each other.

I tried to watch the YouTube video.

Ehh, I wish I wasn't this way, but, I just can't with Jemele Hill anymore.

She even brought up those Trump tweets when it's the "Cowboys should boycott" shyt that got her fired.
