Bill Simmons loves taking credit for anything remotely related to him. Most of the ESPN higher ups hated Simmons outside of Skipper. Simmons moved to LA for Kimmel. He didn't play near as big of a role in 30 for 30 as he's stated.Yes the shots at Rogan, Simmons, and Barstool are weird which I will get into. But he randomly shouted out budden saying that shyt crashed into a mountain side. Dan does this repeating thing that helps he get through things but if Joe Budden your idol especially given his history then boy you stupid as hell. Also any time you mention crashes into mountains Kobe and his daughter come to mind so fukk him.
Barstool started by a rich white guy I don’t listen but I listened to one podcast until said rich guy said racist shyt then some black guys did a podcast called N.I.G.G.E.R with the biggest black guy on the platform (Trill Withers) without him knowing the title and he left I haven’t checked fukk them.
Joe Rogan started the podcast in like 2007 I ain’t listen until 2013 but he had dope people on and still does what happened was YouTube changed (soon Dan and then will leave YouTube they already selectively bleep fukk)after they got hit for that fake child porn shyt their algorithm made changes that blocked videos for saying sex and a whole bunch of other words. So Joe went from doing every show live to recording then posting. He had no boss it was him and his producer Jamie. Spotify offered him a deal to license the podcast exclusively for a few years and paid 200 million for it. A few episodes from the vault aren’t on Spotify out of 1733 some odd episodes.
Bill Simmons wasn’t a baby back bytch like Dan and actually brought shyt to ESPN. Without argument Skipper was fashioning him to run ESPN one day. But Bill Simmons moved from Boston to LA for ESPN. Started the 30 for 30 at ESPN. Grantland at ESPN they named it after some long dead Golfer man. Bill Simmons got together NBA vets back on ESPN and it led to them getting jobs in front offices. The Decision was his idea. Set up the ESPN podcast industrial complex that was separate from just recordings of the radio shows. Things that tapped into pop culture.
Roger Goodell was being a p*ssy and it blew up and Skipper was forced to let Bill go then Bill started the Ringer got funding and signed the deal with HBO. Brought who he could from Grantland then Spotify came offering funding for exclusive limited projects like currently Shea Sherano (multi time New York Time best selling writer) has a podcast with Jinks
Skipper such a person that feels for others that he left them stranded while he was on DRUGS. Then fell into the cushy DAZN gig when DAZN has the exclusive rights of major sports already in other countries.
Dan talked about how he wanted to stay in Miami great on him it’s also great he made note of how ESPN was building around Miami because of Lebron. Miami was to hold the weight that Boston does in terms of sports. ESPN literally made a Miami vertical
I wish them success but I’m curious to how they have things that last. Podcasts are the press junket now the same people on barstool coming to you so what you going to do ?
What NBA vets did Simmons get back on ESPN that lead to front office jobs? I've never heard anything like that. Simmons pitched a basic concept related to The Decision but it wasn't what the final product was and Simmons then wrote a scathing article killing Lebron for doing The Decision including him not having a father figure in his life being a reason he made such a bad move.
Simmons wasn't forced to go he planned out his exit. He even tapped certain Grantland employees to leave with him even before leaving. Many of the Grantland employees left behind were pissed and felt like Simmons was lying to their faces while blindsiding them with leaving which in turn fukked a lot of those left behind over.J
Just funny to me how you're riding Simmons dikk when he left into a cushy gig just like Skipper did.
