What happened that maade them unlikeable.

I'm not sure about unlikeable but it was awkward as fukk. Like half of them thought it was a bit, and the other half didn't know what the fukk to do

This is gonna be a long ass post, sorry in advance.

They put a 88k donation goal for Kate to eat a California Reaper thinking it was too high of a goal to get there.

Then, they got to 44k pretty damn quick, which was Tom Haberstroh goal. Tom ate the pepper and got fukked up badly, as expected, barely being able to speak, sweating and feeling like shyt for a long ass time, until he threw up and felt better. Kate obviously didn't want to eat that shyt, to the point she started joking around telling people to stop donating

As they got closer to 88k, Skipper showed up and basically waved off Kate having to eat the pepper as he didn't want anyone else having to go through what Tom went through. Dan was about it and most of the crew half assed agreed to it. Thing was, no one else wanted to eat the fukking pepper either so nobody stepped up to replace Kate.

Then they got to the 88k and it seems they started to get criticisms from fans because the "challenge" was off. So they discussed for a long while what to do. Skipper showed up again and said he wasn't giving the OK to Kate eating that thing. After another long awkward discussing between the crew, Kate stepped up and said she was going to do it. It felt like a long, uncomfortable guilt trip until she decided to do it. She ate the damn thing and felt like shyt, though it seemed she took it better than Haberstroh.

The crew then joked around. Dan asked where was Skipper and if he was mad. Which basically everyone told him to stop asking because Skipper was mad as fukk (and it seemed he left)

I stopped watching after like 1 hour past that part and there were no more signs of him so I'm curious if he returned or if they joked around with him on today's show.

So Joe went from doing every show live to recording then posting. He had no boss it was him and his producer Jamie. Spotify offered him a deal to license the podcast exclusively for a few years and paid 200 million for it. A few episodes from the vault aren’t on Spotify out of 1733 some odd episodes.

The Decision was his idea. Set up the ESPN podcast industrial complex that was separate from just recordings of the radio shows. Things that tapped into pop culture.

Brought who he could from Grantland then Spotify came offering funding for exclusive limited projects like currently Shea Sherano (multi time New York Time best selling writer) has a podcast with Jinks

Skipper such a person that feels for others that he left them stranded while he was on DRUGS. Then fell into the cushy DAZN gig when DAZN has the exclusive rights of major sports already in other countries.

Dan talked about how he wanted to stay in Miami great on him it’s also great he made note of how ESPN was building around Miami because of Lebron. Miami was to hold the weight that Boston does in terms of sports. ESPN literally made a Miami vertical

He didn't move to LA for ESPN, he moved to write for the Jimmy Kimmel show, and ESPN just didn't complain about it because he was able to write his column from there.

If you ask anybody other than Simmons, the only person that thought Skipper was grooming him to run ESPN was Simmons himself. Even his claim that he created 30 for 30 is disputed as being overstated. Allegedly, most of the first wave was shyt that was already in production, he threw out the branding idea, and wouldn't stop bugging Skipper until he got a credit.

Simmons gets credit for making a podcast his primary product while at ESPN, and pushing them to properly monetize them with ads. But even then, he was far from the first podcast to integrate ad reads. Additionally, ESPN had plenty of podcasts dating back to that same general time (Fantasy Focus Football says hello).

Simmons got himself pushed out because he really thought he was going to go on a podcast that ESPN was paying for and hosting and shyt on the guy in charge of the NFL, their most important content partner, and skate. He really thought that Grantland and NBA Countdown gave him a shield.

To me it was the white version of when say there’s a gang already with equity (new new people non with standing that talk more than then the shipping container without Dan cutting them off as much) and someone says they will do something then then act a way it was weird especially for how long it lasted it. To the point it took away the freedom. You ever be with your girl and she say something or do something and it make your dikk soft.


They used the equity of the people and show for that and it really was a disconnect because ok I can love the people I’ve listened to for years and maybe like the new people but that was forced.
