I think Dan is pretty smart, and understands what is good/funny, so I just don’t understand his bad calculations in giving Mike so much airtime. He must have gotten a lot of hate mail about Mike, and Dan is defiant, in this case to a fault.

That's one thing Dan never understood. The show was funny because the people around him knew were to take things, not because Dan's perceptions of what's funny. Every bad bit the show had, even in it's heyday, was because Dan thought "it was funny" and it almost never was

As much as people despise Mike, he was behind most of what made the show tick. shyt, most of Stu's one liners came from Mike feeding him.

At some point Ryan lost track though, and Dan became lazy - as he always said he would become - so he gave Mike too much power/control. And the show was never the same.

I often listen to old shows, specifically hoch-produced, and can really here in those shows the genesis of why we all fell in love with this specific format and became faithful listeners. And to be honest, I really even liked the show up until late '15-early '16. But now it has really become a train wreck. The local hour is unlistenable, the more airtime billy/chris/mike get the more worthless the show becomes, and somehow show gems like cote, Stan van, and magill are being stifled and overproduced on their specialty days to the point that I fast forward thru most of their segments. I hope at some point they realize less is more, but in this day and age, I think most of us will just have to remember the good 'ol days, relive them in youtube highlights, and find the next new up-and-coming show before it gets ruined by whatever corporation waves the wand to appeal to the masses

I knew this thread was done when dudes started with the alt-right Mike shyt but sit up here and watch Will Cain and Whitlock everyday.

Obviously it ain't the show for y'all dudes on here take sports way to seriously anyway, like it actually effects their lives and shyt
