Please explain breh?
It's pretty self-explanatory. Lebron dominates games in multiple ways, not just scoring. MJs main contribution was shooting, shooting, shooting. Lebron's main contribution is whatever you need him to do that game.

The way most TV/radio/podcast hosts judge individual players doesn't make sense. Like the GOAT argument is one of the dumbest things I ever heard. Because so much of determining who is the GOAT isn't even about the player you're talking about. Teammates, how well or poorly your teammates performed, opponents, how well or poorly the opposition performed, coaching, injuries, officiating, etc, stuff that the player can't control. All that goes into account, all that shapes a person's career so when people say MJ is the GOAT I dont even argue cause his CAREER is unblemished, he's had just the right amount of luck over the course of it.

So ask me who's had the GREATER CAREER, it's obviously Michael Jordan.

Now ask me who's the BETTER PLAYER, it's LeBron James.

Very similar to Tom Brady vs Aaron Rodgers.
Tom, greater career.
A-Rodg, better QB.

These dudes ( and Allyson) went from playing Family Feud to discussing sexual objectification to an action star Royal Rumble. :mjlol:

That's the thing that always bothered me that NO ONE brought up to Dan.

Dan's point is that athletes from the past are just that, from the past, so any current great athlete is better because people and the sport evolve (so does technology for injuries and preparation, we never hear LeBatard talk about that but whatever) and if you take a guy playing from the 60's, 70's,80's and 90's and just make him play in today's game without any context or preparation - just playing and being the same as he was during his time - he wouldn't be as effective....like, no fukking shyt :heh: it's just a nothing argument. I was always baffled by it, specially coming from someone like LeBatard that likes to go waaay deeper than that kind of simplistic analysis. At this point I don't even bother anymore when it comes up and either fast forward the segment or just don't pay any attention to it.

He has so many smart guys around him and no one has ever even suggested that hey, if an elite athlete would have the same conditions as someone from today, he would adapt and be fukking elite at it because what made them great was their drive to be great and they would reach that level anyways.

I remember Dan clowning Bill Russel talking about his height, physique and being a dominant center and how he would be just another guy in today's game....when we had Draymond Green being a force on the Warriors while being fukking shorter than Russell. If a dude like Bill would play in today's day and age, he would be a fukking freak that would have Dan questioning humanity and shyt like he loves to do :pachaha:

"Michael Jordan never shot threes like this!". Well if Jordan figured out that for him to win, dominate and crush his competition and doubters he had to shoot and make more threes, he would fukking train until he became an elite three point shooter. MJ was insane enough to stay up for days trying to be better at fukking ping pong and I'm supposed to believe the three point line would be his demise as an all time great :mjlol:

I think the closest to "yeah I was wrong about this" Dan has ever come regarding this subject was when Bomani was still a regular guest and the Rice vs Moss comparison was thrown out. LeBatard went to his usual "but I never saw anyone do the things Moss did, Rice wasn't as fast, had better QBs etc..." then they read a text from a fan detailing Rice's stats with different QBs, comparing their stats to what Moss did with his QBs and a number of.other stuff that made it clear how Rice was just better or at the very least how Moss wasn't this incomparable athlete.. There was a long pause and Bomani just said "yeah that kinda settles it" and they went to a break :dead:
Funny cause both Rice and Jordan were known to have some of the most intense workouts of anyone in their respective leagues. So you know they would've done whatever it would take to be the best. shyt honestly you could take Jordan and drop him in the league right now and he'd still be a freak athlete. What other SGs or SFs outside of probably Lebron have his combination of speed, leaping ability, power, and quickness. He's still unmatched.

:ehh: ...don’t totally agree but :ehh: nonetheless.

This is what I mean about context. Teams are formed different an example being that it’s been said Lebron runs the Cavs. Which can be said his team was assembled (by him) to maximize all his attributes. Thus putting him in that position. Where as if he had another primary ball handler(Irving, who Lebron basically ran off)it would hurt his stats.

How much of Jordan’s career did you see vs what you’ve been told?

Saying that Jordan basically only provided shooting speaks to your ignorance:whoa:.
I ask because there are series with more at stake, where Jordan’s rebounds, assists and shooting % rivals, if not trumps Lebrons.

With proper context Lebron is only in the convo but he is firmly supplanted behind MJ.

When it comes to teammates Lebron is always given the ultimate pass.

We can agree to disagree. I think all thing considered MJ is a better player.:yeshrug:

Such a flawed stance. LeBron is the only athlete that seems to get extra credit for being great. For instance, everyone lost their minds last night because LeBron.......hit multiple fade away jumpers in a game. Ironically, Dan and crew were having a conversation about being a "compiler" when it comes to MLB hall of fame. LeBron is the ultimate compiler. Those "Bron is closing in on MJ for most 30 point playoff games" graphics are just a compiler stat when you don't include the context of how many games Bron played vs MJ. Sure Bron will pass MJ in scoring.....but with context you realize MJ was scoring at a 30ppg clip. People goe nuts over Bron scoring 40 points against Indy or Toronto......meanwhile MJ avg 41 for a series in the Finals. Oh.....and gave you 8 boards, 6 assists, and damn near 2 steals/game. He was simply a better basketball player, and there is no shame in Bron being behind him. But just because Bron amasses total numbers over time does not automatically put him over MJ.....unless you're willing to call Stockton the GOAT point guard.

Agreed. The "LBJ has more points, assists, rebounds" argument is becoming just as simplistic as the "Jordan has more rings" argument. Ironically(as you pointed out) they both fall into the compiler category. Those who argue for MJ over LeBron will point out that the 6 rings argument is too simplistic and doesn't delve into context, but the same can be said for LeBrons stat total argument.

Now that the sports world is slurping Lebron juice like he does all the time:

"If Lebron was on steriods, would Adam Silver even want to know?"
