my mom wasn't coming into the room with me at the doctor after i turned 13/14 (maybe even 12), she never asked if i was being touched inappropriately because the reason i was there wouldn't involve a reason to touch me inappropriately. she's not wrong to have not asked, most people just wouldn't even think about it. those girls are breaking their bodies, so most parents are thinking of the physical rehab a dr is doing, they wouldn't even conceive of him being in or near their vagina. now couple this with the fact that he's treating college kids and those in training, people who live away from their parents, and the fact that many victims of sexual assault don't report it, it makes sense that there were only a handful of parents who knew/complained prior to the whole exposal.

My final verdict on this is these parents were too thirst for fame and glory and pressured the shyt outta the kids to stay in line.

So, I totally believed they weren't telling their parents on their own. But, I do not believe all this parents had healthy aspirations for their kids, putting them in the Olympic cabin, leaving them there and not finding about this earlier.

I'm sorry. You can only be so naive for the safety of your kids.

This. Foxworth has kids too and they are even younger than Stu's kids so I don't know why one of them cant just pull rank on the topic and shut LeBatard up just like Dan lets women on the show pull rank on any sexual assault/harassment topic and he doesn't disagree.

There's so many layers you are missing. For a lot of those little girls the experience is traumatic. Hell even grown women who get raped completely lock it away and not talk about it. On top of that some may not even realize just how inappropriate the touching was depending on how far he went with them. Plus they were likely threatened that if they told anybody even their parents that they would be kicked out of the program.

I don't blame the parents at all for not knowing. A lot of those young women want the Olympics so bad I could see them not wanting to fukk that up at all and hiding what happened. It's just careless to assume parents were compliant with that behavior.

No disrespect but your parents have done you a disservice if they haven't had the discussion w/ you about inappropriate touching in any situation where someone needs to physically touch you.

I didn't say how parents should react when the kids are away, I said I completely understand how they wouldn't think that something so crazy could be happening with staff. Most people have a somewhat optimistic view of and trust in others, especially schools, coaches, doctors, etc. and simply don't think about people being capable of such deviance - not people "they know"

They keep saying Whiteside is a knucklehead and misses games with a tummy ache. Mike, Dan, Cote and Stu have missed shows claiming they were sick but they are questioning the honesty and pain tolerance of these elite black athletes in peak physical condition. Dan even called LeBron the Devil today.
