These dudes said for months that the regular season doesn't matter, and when someone does it during the time when all the attention is on him, Pablo thinks the NBA is "uncomfortable". I think they like it. shyt, they just signed a new CBA requiring them to play in 65 games to be eligible for these massive contracts. But a player dropping 50+ in the playoffs against the team with the best record is arguably more impressive than D. Mitch giving Chicago 71 in January.

Yep. Pure galaxy brain overthink.

I mean, if we were going to be honest, the NBA is probably absolutely thrilled with what's happening right now. Between the Heat and the Lakers, two teams from the play-in tournament are up big on the 1 and 2 seeds in their conferences, respectively, and one of them got their after being in 13th near the trade deadline. Most of the season for teams not clearly at the top of the conference, it was all about maintaining a top six spot. The only reason the regular season doesn't matter to players or fans is that the shyt's too long, and the loudest media voices in the room have distilled all meaningful talk about the league down to "Did he win a ring?"

Now, if I were to point to anything about the regular season that needs fixed ASAP, I'd say that it's pretty stupid that the Heat won their division, but because of play-in fukkery, are actually the eight seed behind Atlanta. Who play in the same division as the Heat, which they won by three games.

Did you watch High Noon?

Neither did anyone else. There's a reason why, and it's not just Bo. Pablo, much like many of his generation makes takes from the sidelines. I don't care about self deprecation. I want you to be good at your job. He doesn't have strong relationships with athletes that allow him and insider perspective. He make makes Advanced Reddit observations, which literally anyone can do... What does he actually bring to the table, except being a goofy simulacrum of a sportswriter?

Also, he was dumb/gross enough to use a toilet without a seat for years until he got married.

:scust:
no, i don't watch espn shows.

re: the bolded - nor do most of the people on TV - also not sure what that has to do with being on the DLS? none of these guys are actual sports analysts or super connected, even dan aint connected like that anymore. you want him to be something other than what the people on the show are?

What exactly is your point? What couldn't you understand about my initial statement: that I find Pablo incredibly corny. I think Amin is great on the show, and that's because he has both media and front office chops to back his shyt up. Contrary to what you wrote, most people doing TV have have those relationships that I spoke about; you'd have a harder time showing me folks who weren't team reporters or long time contributors at papers before getting their roles. Pablo was a sociology dude who didn't play sports in college and joined SI after he graduated. He didn't even cover hoops when he started. I don't need or want his opinions on basketball, soccer, or damn near any other sport. I do not find Pablo funny or amusing, because he is fukking useless and only serves a segment of the demographic that I don't care for in any capacity. I guess I'm just from a different time and place, so let's just leave it at that.

breh, like i said, you'd have a point if he was sitting up on NBA today...it's the DLS, the hell is stu, jess, mike, billy, etc bringing to sports discussion pablo aint? i get it, you don't like him, i just think your reason doesn't make sense in the scope of the show he's on

Pablo is fine in small doses but his "smart debate" style gets boring quickly because, as others have pointed out, he doesn't bring anything that compelling into any argument and contrary to the most of the shipping container and Stu, he's not nearly as funny. He's fine here or there to bring a new voice/opinion on things but I don't see him as someone the show needs.

Bo is way more funny and brings more interesting points (imo) to the table. Amin is a fukkery machine with actual cool insights when it comes to basketball. Mina is basically perfect for a show like this one: she's funny, gets the show and can join the fukkery while not wanting to be a protagonist AND she's very knowledgeable of the sport she covers.

Pablo doesn't have 1 single trait that's above all those people :manny:

literally don't see any value in Bo, he's arrogant, insufferable, and everything yall paint Pablo to be without any of the lightheartedness except, occasionally, when he's with lebatard or the L&F crew :ld:
