Hell nah, we need that 2024 update cause some of you nikkas outta pocket. We got guys throwing wild names over Henry...

Time to accept reality that Derrick Henry is, either on the cusp of, or already, one if the 10 greatest running backs of all time. And me and @Trav been saying this shyt!

I think if people are honest he’s the last of the workhorse RB’s, but even with that they switch him out a lot. He’s also the last really good Bama back, dude is a unit

Why does Henry need 15,000 when only 4 guys have 15,000? One of those 15k rushers (Gore) CLEARLY is an inferior back to Henry...

The Top 10 rushers list also, in addition to Gore, has Bettis, Dorsett, and Martin. These guys weren't better than Henry...

I need to understand why the bar for Henry is 15k, almost nobody does that...

Gore may not have been spectacular, week in and out, but dude was a solid consistent back for many years, there’s something to that, that you honestly can’t down play

I'm not saying he is top 10 but I'm disappointed that I only saw Priest Holmes mentioned once in this thread.
:unimpressed:

All in preference, Holmes was that nikka as he progressed

Who on here is he better than?
This is a good list...

*sighs* he's definitely better than AD, bruh...

He's better than Sayers...

Everyone else I'll say still belong over him but Henry getting close...
I think Henry has the dominance. As mentioned earlier, he was on pace at one time to have back-to-back 2,000 yard seasons -- he actually has an outside shot at the number this season -- and there's a 4-5 year stretch of his career where a strong argument exists that he's the best/most effective/dominant runner in the league. He should score 100 rushing TDs this year as well and is on pace to become the ninth player ever to lead the league in rushing three or more times as well as one of the few to do it at age 30 or older.

For me, I'll just say I have rarely seen one running back show the ability to defeat teams seemingly by himself as often as Henry has. The playoff run where he sonned Baltimore and New England, his exploits vs. the Jags...

I can understand if he's not top 10 in the eyes of some, as he does have limits as a receiver but I'd be hard pressed to keep him out of my top 10 when it's said and done. At least based on the people who have been active since I became aware of football.
His biggest weakness is he isn't a dynamic receiver. He has no real route-running ability so he can't be used in the pass game as anything other than, in the flats out the backfield--->you can't split him wide or send him down the field...

This limitation only really hurts him vs Faulk or Diet Faulk. But it's a limitation nonetheless...

I guess one could also say he isn't a dominant blocker in the pass game for how large he is, but he isn't a negative there, he's just not a dominant blocker. And you could say he lacks the elusive trait alot of GOATs have, but that's mostly a smaller runner thing anyway, big guys don't need to be elusive with the power they have so should that really be a knock?

He doesn't really have other weaknesses. He's the fastest nikka at that size ever, dikkerson was his height but 30 pounds lighter. Bettis was his weight but 4 inches shorter. Nobody has had his dimensions and been this fast, his open field, breakaway speed matches a lot of backs who are smaller than him...

That stiff arm is iconic, the way he just throws and ragdolls defenders...

He's like the perfect blend of patience, power, and speed. One of the hardest guys to take down with one man, he's clutch in late game scenarios, he's clutch at the goal line, he's clutch in the red zone. He may be the most secure ball carrier ever, all these other nikkas fumbled at significantly higher rates than King does. Every one of em!

He's a TD machine, he's got 104 TDs (96 rushing, 4 receiving, 4 passing) in 124 career games, can't forget he didn't really start for his first 2¼ seasons. 5 playoff TDs in 7 career playoff games. Carried a mid team on his back to multiple playoff runs and an AFC Championship appearance. He's got a 2000 yard season, two 1500 yard seasons, and a total of 5 seasons over 1000 yards...

I just don't get what dudes are looking at when they say he ain't GOAT10 level, other than, it's always easy to hang on to legends of yesteryear. It's hard to acknowledge in real time you may be watching someone better than favorites of your youth...

They've tried to make other guys workhorses like Chubb, Saquon, and Taylor, those guys bodies just can't withstand that workload...

Gore was solid for sure but he was never "best back in The League" at any point, ever. Henry been the best back in the NFL for a half-decade, and that's including last year's down year that appears to have been an aberration. That peak level of being the best is way ahead of anything Gore ever was at his peak...

I agree with all of this except the part about him being better than Adrian Peterson. Not sure if I'm ready to go that far. :whoa:

If that's how you feel, I respect it and understand the viewpoint. :hubie:
