Criminal that this and Gz Up Ho'z Down was left off. I think some copies might've had The Next Episode? I've seen copies with the track listed on it. Obviously Gz Up ended up on versions.

I've wanted a CDQ version of Tha Next Episode since I first heard in back in the Napster era

G’z Up Hoes Down was on the album when it originally got released, but it got taken off later on for sample issues. Jay Z must have got it cleared a couple years later when he used that same Isaac Hayes sample for Can I Live.

Unfortunately all the versions of the original The Next Episode are poor quality. The most decent version I can find online is this

I know that about Gz Up being on first presses, of course, just wish it would've still made it on all copies b/c I absolutely love that song. My statement was that it's ass that both Gz Up and Next Ep were left off (well mostly left off).

There's the Dre - Chronic Re-Lit album and the Snoop Doggy Dogg - Death Row Lost Sessions Tape, and there's one for Tha Dogg Pound - The Unreleased Sessions

There's another The Chronic Masters or something like that which has some unreleased stuff and all the b-sides/remixes (46 videos on this youtube playlist)

Chronic intro is still one of the dopest beats :ohlawd:

It’s on streaming on the 30 year anniversary. But would be dope to have it on physicals

I have no clue man but they need to open the vaults idk what the reasoning is for sitting on all that piff. They release a really small amount at a time which is wack because it’s been so many years. I hope now they’re in a position to do so.
Death Row vaults and RZA's faults (anything from 93-1999) I'd pay money to have leak. Idgaf if snoop and dre ever release another new song (does anyone?) but give us what's in the vaults.

G-Funk is the definitive West Coast sound to me, and has the most classic material IMO. I don't know why they abandoned it, it's ageless.

Everyone wants to adapt and change up to be more current. Especially artists, and especially hip hop artists from that era. Dre's style changed pretty dramatically like 3-4 different times over the years.

Same thing happened with the East Coast moving away from samples in the late 90s. RZA could've made grimy 1995 style beats forever and I would've loved it, but he felt the desire to change and try new things.

The change isn't always for the better, b/c like you're saying I could've listened to the G-Funk and Boom Bap ish forever.
