I just got into this cac nikka's music. :wtf:

He actually has an identity, unlike his other cac brethren in the game.

To be honest, he's pretty much a fraud, but a fraud that happens to have been taught very well how to make good catchy songs. That song he has with Quavo is undeniably catchy.

Not at all a fan of Post Malone but why do you characterize him as a fraud?

He was unsuccessfully trying to make it in a different genre that he clearly grew up listening to, so he studied various rap acts by watching youtube on a loop, switched his style up and broke out in rap. Then he "retired" from rap, writing what amounted to a thank you letter to the new fans he made in hip hop, stating that he did what he set out to do and would be going back to make the music he was originally making. i haven't listened to his latest album all the way through, but the songs I've heard sound like a mix of the original stuff he was attempting (techno/country) and rap.

You don't go from this....

...to this, without having some fraudulence in you. It was carefully calculated.

His look may be fraudulent but his music seems pretty original/unique. :ehh:

My main gripe with cac hip hop artists is that they usually sound like waterdown version of a black artist that already exists, usually Kid Cudi. At least PM developed his own sound.

TBH I'm not sure what makes his music sounds all that original/unique. To me, he actually sounds just like you described in that second sentence. Maybe his production is a bit different (which is even a stretch), but he doesn't sound all that different from stuff ASAP Rocky and Kid Cudi (and various other artists) have done. That doesn't take away from some of his music not sounding good though :manny: I liked a couple songs from that mixtape he had, songs with Jeremih and 2 Chainz

Hip hop is finished. Its been finished. This is the gentrification era of hip hop. Aside from what you just said, there aint any money for anyone in rap with the exception of 15% or less like Wake Up Now. Especially now that all these white rappers use their privilege and connections and numbers to get on. they dont even need to appeal to black audiences or get tyat cosign anymore it means nothing to them. They have no respect for black music and culture. They use it as a come up.

I always found it really odd how black men have gravitated towards rap to the point damn near every brotha want to be rapper or a ball player. And hip hop continues to make less money every year...meanwhile cacs took house and techno and rock and every other genre we make and make us look like the outsiders. and now we have to play their games just to get ahead in something that was ours as black folks. It pisses me off to no end!

thats what white people do though.

they see black art and culture from a distance but cant infiltrate from within so they use their money and control to buy it. Next thing they take our art, music, culture, mass produce it, make money from it...and shut us out from competing. Like the legal MJ game and the Tech Industry.

Chance The Rapper has more connections than any of these white rappers that i know of
