Thoughts on Gavin Newsom? I wouldn't mind seeing, say a Booker/Newsom ticket. I'm not sure if they have the baggage of say a Clinton or Biden
2024. dude has to get that governor experience first. after that tho, dude could run shyt

Why? That experience bs is officially out the window. The United States elected Obama then Trump. Americans don't give a fukk about experience.
honestly, i fukk with newsome and id prefer a slam dunk in 2024 for him. hes not that well known now :yeshrug: trump was well known

thats why i kinda like this ticket because as a party, the dems wouldnt lose shyt if they lost. id hate to blow 2020 on a promising candidate if it looks like trump is up anyway

That's fair, but Obama was unknown too. While Newsom is no Obama, he doesn't have to be ... Trump is not extremely popular, and barely won two years ago. All the Democrats need is someone whom the left won't immediately eat alive because of some video showing them awkwardly touching a woman or making some racially questionable comment. As long as they aren't half as hateable as Hilary Clinton, it's in the bag.

What, exactly, are the policy positions of this ticket? What are they going to do for the country? All I've heard from Biden is that he wants to beat Trump up behind the schoolyard. Beto, although leaning progressive, is extremely green and doesn't have a very strong record to stand on. So what are their positions on healthcare? Minimum wage? The financial sector? Monopoly/anti-trust? Foreign policy? Income/wage inequality? Housing? Voting rights? Women's rights? Who are they going to appoint to key cabinet positions?

Biden's key trait is peddling Comey-esque civility crap, and he has a metric fukkton of shytty baggage. Beto, while taking some progressive stances, is a member of the New Dems and doesn't have any signature issues he can stand on besides the vague notion of not being Ted Cruz. He's not even AOC level ready.

One of the biggest concerns for 2020 is not whether the Dem candidate can beat Trump, but what they will do in the event they do beat him. Yeah, the Biden/Beto ticket will make for a very entertaining election, but what the hell do they do on day 1 of their administration? Can we expect 4 years of punching back on their defeated opponent like Trump has been doing with Hillary? The liberal landscape is flooded with figures who are solely defined by their opposition to Trump. What is needed more than ever is a new, energizing, freestanding vision of what America can be. shytting on Trump isn't enough.
