back in 2006 a black woman named priscilla slade used more than $650,000 of texas southern school funds for "personal reasons".

she was indicted and accepted a plea deal and now she works at jackson state.
HOUSTON --
She was one of Texas Southern University's most recognizable presidents, and one of only two women. But Dr. Priscilla Slade left that school in disgrace, accused of fraud and theft.
She later pleaded no contest to those charges. Recently, she returned to TSU to talk about her years there.

"I thank God that it's over and I can move on with my life," Slade said.

When we last saw Slade, she'd just signed an agreement with the Harris County district attorney. She pleaded no contest to theft and fraud charges, and she got 10 years probation, community service and had to pay back $127,000 to TSU.

"Both sides walk away; we're both a little bloody," Slade's attorney, dikk Deguerin said.

Slade and several top officials were charged with misappropriating more than $600,000 from TSU -- $40,000 spent on china, more than $200,000 on furniture and landscaping for her Memorial home. Her first trial ended in a hung jury. She told us at the time it was "a bittersweet victory."

Slade was fired by the board of regents, who said she should have gotten their approval. They, in turn, were fired by the governor. Looking back, she says she would have done at least one thing differently.

"I would just make the board aware that those decisions were being made," Slade said.

Slade returns to TSU for first time since scandal

:picard: Nothing I just read made any sense

I would say replace the administration but I got a couple good people in the admin. They trying to clean the bytch up but the trustees ain't shyt either. A lot of the trustees in all these secret societies like you would imagine due to being in DC. Most of these nikkas live in VA which is how I meet them.

This story bigger than him. Kid looks no older than 24. I refuse to believe they let someone that young and inexperienced have access to half a million dollars. They trying to paint him and rest off like lone wolves but I ain’t buying it. Ain’t nobody stealing $1 million dollars and the department don’t know. There had to have been a lot more people complicit in some way. It should’ve been obvious seeing this nikka driving Range Rovers, taking trips to Cuba and Europe and wearing thousands of dollars in clothes on a college student employee’s salary.

Excuse you??!! :picard:.. my "bullshyt" degree led to six figure career advancements along with other benefits that I would not have attained if I did not have it. I had to start at the bottom and level up (just like a majority of degree programs and career choices) but my degree set the foundation for other career opportunities and life experiences. If everything was focused on STEM, then the market would be oversaturated i.e. (Business Administration, Communication degrees)- it's called supply and demand (oh and that's something I learned in my bullshyt economics class). Had I chose another degree option that I was not passionate about or felt interested in studying, I (or any other students) would not have applied myself and earned any type of degree, at all. Everybody is not built for STEM. NO degree options are guaranteed.
He's a piece of shyt. Good post

Fair Enough. How about this being a better comparison.

DePaul University -
Enrollment: 23,539 (double Howard's enrollment)
Endowment: $492.3 million (less than Howard's endowment)

Howard and other HBCU's need to get the right people in to make things work.

I do understand that there is an increase of students dependent on financial aid and are not able to come out of pocket for tuition.

I understand alumni not having the types of jobs where they can give back the university.

But most all schools are facing these issues. A qualified administration will make it work.
Black people don't have DePaul money. Why would you even make this comparison? We literally have 1% of the wealth of this country and 80% of that is tied in with baby boomers who benefited from AA when it was helping Black folks. You full of shyt like most nikkas in terms of not understanding what being Black is in America from an economic standpoint

Yeah I'm in this black lawyer Group Me. He's a 3L and supposedly has a job lined up at Arent Fox, a big time DC law firm. But, they said all his shyt has been pulled from Arent Fox's website last they checked. Even if all this shyt passes, some will ask could he pass character and fitness to even sit for the bar? Well, usually character and fitness is about how you disclose all information. I've heard of stories of people committing actual crimes and still passing C&F. BUT, one of the biggest issues most states have is when you misappropriate funds, because that could raise an issue of whether you'd do that to a client as a lawyer. So really, I think it's hard for him to ever pass it. Crazy, nikka had a $180K base salary big firm gig lined up right after law school and not may not ever be able to practice law......and be a damn felon.
He's an idiot forreal. All to stunt.

1) Instead of being emotional, go back and reread because the point clearly went over your head.

2) The comparison had nothing to do with wealth but fiscal management.

But you right, I don’t know why I would compare a first tier HBCU that dubs itself a “Black Ivy” to a third tier university that ain’t on nobody’s radar. Howard recruits more students to top Wall Street investment banks, consulting, and law firms than DePaul and has a more high caliber alumni network.

Some of you nikkas and y’all standards is low as shyt.

I expected better from Howard’s administration, so that is from where the criticism is coming.
