I donated to my local NPR radio station and got an invite to an Emmy For Your Consideration event for Pose a few weeks ago. Ryan Murphy(the show’s creator) interviewed Billy Porter (Pray Tell) about his career. There was an afterparty with catered buffet, appetizer trays, and a open bar. Most of the cast was there as well...it was dope.

I am VERY surprised that the super homophobic nikkas on this site actually watch this show. Very surprising.

I binge watched the first season yesterday and was floored at how good it was. It's VERY real. Maybe even TOO real at some points. The writing is superb. Acting is superb.

Might be the best show on TV right now.

At the Pose event, RM asked BP what would he hope to see in next season's plot?

BP said he'd like to see something about the black church vs. homosexuality and it's effect on its black youth

So I made it up to the episode where Candy gets killed. Very powerful episode. But I will have to say, I wish the writers would have delved a little more into her history. She was such an interesting, polarizing character. It would have been dope to learn more about her history, how she met Elektra, etc etc. They really dropped the ball with that one.

That character became a fan favorite. You can tell they were writing the episodes as they were filming.

I'm gonna say, this may be the best show about LGBTQ culture I think I have seen. It's never played for laughs and every character is well written and complex. I grew up in 1980's Newark and they used to have vogue-offs in Branch Brook Park if anyone from the area remembers but it was definitely different from the breaking and locking the bboys used to do. But yea it's a very good show, I dig it.
