Porn is a billion dollar business, and the psychological community makes money off of the residual issues that come with it.

Of course they want to frame it as normal. Virtually everybody who tries to quit it after getting too deep notice the brain changes. I left it alone for a long time and it felt like I was living a whole nother life.

Not getting an artificial 24/7 dopamine fix actually made regular life enjoyable. I started getting actual pleasure from just being outside looking at nature, could study again, vastly improved interactions with women, etc.

If yall are suffering from any life issues, try quitting porn. May just be your dopamine levels need resetting.
and this is all proven

good on you bro for spreading growth and congrats on your success

My favorite part is how people will disagree with the scientists and post up their bro-science to disprove it lmao

Anything can be 'addictive' but few things actually change your brain chemistry and porn aint it. Its like saying people are 'addicted' to watching sports because they pay for the streaming services and watch sports for at least 2hrs every day and will go into withdrawal if they cant catch a game during playoffs :russ:
yeah a lot of people on here dont understand the difference between “being an addict” and “lacking self-control”

This is called ignorance.

Just because you feel the facts are wrong doesn't mean they are.

Much love. I wish the dopamine science was pushed much more than it is. Its so damn damaging and insidious to be moving through life with a burnt out pleasure center, I'm making sure my future sons live very fulfilling lives with enough female attention to where they won't even want to touch that poison.

Exactly. Dudes on here getting defensive because they think this research invalidates their battles with over consuming porn. It doesn't.

Blacks have turned into whole white people
"The scientist said it, do it has to be true"

These muthafukaz call gambling and shyt an addiction.
But say porn isn't addictive, even tho the same scientific community says that watching too much porn affects brain activity.

Trust people that believed the sun revolved around the earth, brehs

Online Porn Addiction: What We Know and What We Don’t—A Systematic Review

A very interesting article on the research gathered so far on the topic of porn addiction and why it is hard to be conclusive about it. Adding gambling, then internet gaming, as addictions to the DSM-V opened the can of worms of behavioral addictions. It's very recent and the subject is up to debate among scientists. Hence why I was warning folks against thinking they go in the way of science by pushing the "it's not in the book so it doesn't exist" narrative.

Here is the abstract:
In the last few years, there has been a wave of articles related to behavioral addictions; some of them have a focus on online pornography addiction. However, despite all efforts, we are still unable to profile when engaging in this behavior becomes pathological. Common problems include: sample bias, the search for diagnostic instrumentals, opposing approximations to the matter, and the fact that this entity may be encompassed inside a greater pathology (i.e., sex addiction) that may present itself with very diverse symptomatology. Behavioral addictions form a largely unexplored field of study, and usually exhibit a problematic consumption model: loss of control, impairment, and risky use. Hypersexual disorder fits this model and may be composed of several sexual behaviors, like problematic use of online pornography (POPU). Online pornography use is on the rise, with a potential for addiction considering the “triple A” influence (accessibility, affordability, anonymity). This problematic use might have adverse effects in sexual development and sexual functioning, especially among the young population. We aim to gather existing knowledge on problematic online pornography use as a pathological entity. Here we try to summarize what we know about this entity and outline some areas worthy of further research.
