(CBS News) BOSTON - Police in Massachusetts on Friday arrested a crime lab scientist and accused her of faking thousands of tests that may have put innocent people behind bars.

Annie Dookhan was arrested at her home outside Boston.

Police said the former state crime lab chemist admitted that she altered or faked test results of drug cases assigned to her. Prosecutors said she went as far as adding cocaine to samples that were negative.

"There was clearly a short cutting of corners," State Attorney General Martha Coakley said. "There was just getting this done as quickly as possible and all of that we're looking at."

Officials said during her nine years the lab, Dookhan tested more than 60,000 drug samples. About 11,000 people now in jail were put there in part due to her work.

Already more than a dozen have been released because of questions about how she handled evidence.

Ex-judge convicted of jailing kids for cash - Crimesider - CBS News

(CBS/AP) SCRANTON, Pa. - Former juvenile court judge Mark Ciavarella was convicted in an alleged "kids for cash" scheme that accused him and another judge of sending youth offenders to for-profit detention centers in exchange for millions of dollars in illicit payments from the builder and owner of the lockups.

The 61-year-old Luzerne County ex-judge left the bench in disgrace two years ago after prosecutors charged him with engineering one of the biggest courtroom frauds in U.S. history by using juvenile delinquents as pawns in a plot to get rich.

Federal prosecutors accused Ciavarella and a second judge, Michael Conahan, of taking more than $2 million in bribes from the builder of the PA Child Care and Western PA Child Care detention centers and extorting hundreds of thousands of dollars from the facilities' co-owner. Ciavarella insisted the payments were legal and denied that he incarcerated youths for money.

A federal jury in Scranton returned a mixed verdict, convicting Ciavarella of 12 counts, including racketeering and conspiracy, and acquitting him of 27 counts, including extortion. The guilty verdicts related to nearly $1 million that the builder paid to the judges.

Wow, this poor cock eyed demon. Annie Dookhan, the state of Massachusetts lab tech, wow. Often times you would think this would be because of another brand of demonic individual but it just goes to show you that demons come in all colors, creeds, ethnicities and nationalities. I mean you could tell by her demonically arched eyebrows that something was off with her but who knew she would take her demonic talents this far.

that's what i want to know. WHY!
I find it hard to believe she wanted to get out work early so sprinkled some crack on some samples.

my theory...
1. She got paid
2. The DA was smashing and she wanted to make his life easier
3. She hates poor people.
4. I'm gonna go ahead and assume most these cases were of minorities. Shes' racist.


really though i want to know the motive. If anyone finds anything on it post it up.
