the only way to deal with a crazy stalker is to kill them immediately
police are useless while the stalker is just buying time before the inevitable murder-suicide happens

sadly if you're not willing to change your home address, find a new job, change your phone number and probably stop going to places you use to patronize regularly, you'll have to look over your shoulder for a long time if your stalker isn't imprisoned or dead.
