Wiggins is in the NBA and doing it against pros, wait until Simmons hits the league, if he can't shoot like your boy Bricky then nobody will care in the long run.

He does not have LeBron level athleticism, so not having a jumper at the next level could be a problem.
Did you even read my post?

And it's not as if Wiggins' jumper is something to write home about anyway, but back to Simmons. Simmons will be able to contribute something if the shots don't happen to fall on any given night. Great players do that.

Wiggins jumper exists we can see it and it's a work in progress and has been used as a weapon to beat teams already, right now Simmons has absolutely no jumper and no confidence in it. If you're drafting a player number 1 you're expecting him to be more than just a high level glue guy, if he can't develop the jumper there will be a ceiling on what he becomes. You brought up the Young Wolf in your first post :mjpls: , nobody is drafting a dude 1 with the hopes that he's the ultimate glue guy, if Simmons is going to be a great player he has to be able to shoot, and no amount of ancillary stats will change that.

I like Simmons a lot, but throwing Wiggins under the bus for him is just :ld:

When did it become the norm to demand a player to be a finished product at 19? The things People criticize him about makes me :mindblown: people saying he's not that great because he can't shoot. He's 19 and has dominated every level he's been. Playing better competition will make him develop his shot no one is questioning his work ethic. What's worst is the people who say he's too passive and scared to take the last shot. Like it's really become the norm to demand that out of a freshmen in high school? He's in college he's playing within a team. The NBA is more player drivin yu start having that talk when he's established in the league.

Nobody is expecting a finished product at 19, but his jumpshot is a major hole in his game that won't really show up until the next level. A lot of young guys need to work on their shots, my problem with him is the sheer and utter reluctance to shoot jumpers, he just doesn't take them even when a defender gives him a 3-5 foot cushion.

hell it won't be there against the better D1 squads that will zone him. He's a great prospect, but he's going to need a specific team to draft him, the Celtics, Pelicans or Blazers are the best situations for him, if he goes to a team that lacks shooting a lot of you will be calling him a bust the first 3 years cause he wont be scoring but will be doing a lot of the little things.

Nobody said anything about shooting 3s either, he just straight up doesn't take jumpshots.....zero confidence in the shot.

He scored 43 last night. Clearly we're not talking about a glue guy. You have great players in the league right now that do stuff other than score. That is a level of success Simmons at least is displaying so far because nobody will make it to that kind of level by just scoring."

I'm concerned about this, of course you take him because of his talent if he's there, but his outside game is nonexistent.

He would best suited to play the 3, but he plays like a 4 and is a tweener. If Philly were to take him that would create a huge logjam. You would have Simmons, Okafor, Embiid, Noel and Saric. In that case you would have to trade at least two of them.

I'd have to think we go guard or wing this year with Brown, Murray or Dunn. Our front court is set. Our guard play is worst in the league.

fukk that jumper right now cause i know he will develop that. He's to talented not too and his other skills make up for his lack of a J right now. Bron Wade AI etc. are cats who most would say have subpar jumpers and all of them did pretty well for themselves.

43 against North Florida :ld:

He's the number 1 pick, but he needs to go to the right situation, a team that lacks shooting around him and he'll have it very rough for the first couple years. Does this mean you want him on the ________, or are you not at liberty to discuss any type of drafting of players to the Team that shall remain nameless?

I don't care. Talk about them all you want.
