Surprised we haven't got a thread on this. A VentureBeat journalist announced it as on June 4th with a 'slate of games' and a number of insiders on
are going along with it.
So what do people think we will see? I think there will be fewer games than I expected as they will focus on gameplay due to the latest criticism Microsoft/Ubisoft got (as such not many or no CGI reveals of games two or whatever years away) plus COVID has definitely hurt delayed production a bit. Think we'll see:
-> PS5 itself plus new UI and services
-> Segment on PS Now/how Sony are doing PS4 to PS5
-> Games
- Demon Souls (Bluepoint, Launch game)
- Ratchet & Clank 2 (launch game)
- Godfall (launch game)
- Something Dreams and Gran Turismo related to PS5 (maybe big update for GT on launch day and Dreams on PS+) (this might be later date though)
- Housemarque Game (Launch Window)
- 2-3 other smaller games from indies or partners (but this might be at a later date)
- Horizon 2 - few minutes of in game stuff (coming 2021 at the earliest)
- 3rd Party Stuff obviously
Think that will be it - nothing from Naughty Dog while stuff like Spiderman 2, God of War 2, Days Gone 2 etc must be 2-3 years off at least. Lot of rumours about Silent Hill remake, personally I think its bullshyt.
What does everyone think? Keeping in mind it probably won't be a big thing like E3, and will probably be one of a few PS5 events coming over the summer, so expectations have to be tempered. Think it'll be an introduction to a few PS5 games plus seeing the console itself and not much more
