We forget that much of the PS2's sales were AFTER the PS3 had already been out for like 3 years.
Like, the PS2 was still getting major exlusive blockbuster games even after the PS3 released. (Final Fantasy XII and God of War 2). Plus the PS3 was wicked expensive and had not much great exclusives early in its life.
So that puts into perspective PS4 being unable to catch up.
